OK LINDEN SELLERS. Anyone else agree that this is TOTALLY out of control! the exchange rate is thro the roof!!! Everytime I log on its ridiculous! 306! OMG. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. All it would take is for ALL OF THE SELLERS to NOT SELL LINDENS FOR ONE DAY, and we can bring it down to a normal range!
And for you buyers..if this doesnt stop, prices will begin to rise on EVERYTHING, home & land rentals & sales, and item sales as well! We cannot let the money spiral out of control, at this rate no one will be able to afford to play!
WHO IS WITH ME ON THIS! The value of a linden dollar is dropping by the day.

Think the exchange rate is too high? Put your money where your mouth is -- buy up all the L$ for sale above your target price. Keep doing that as long as people post sales above your target rate.
Then cry as the free market chews you up and spits you out.

actually i see it regularly go up to 310 and back down to th 290's. A few days ago I sold some Lindens for 295 per $1usd. I see this as regular ups and downs.
Also consider SL was just closed for several hours and a big update is coming, People like to dump lindens then for some reason.

I didnt start this thread for idiots to begin fights. I started it for the good of all residents who wish to be able to have lindens that are actually worth something. If I could fix it myself I would. Grow up.

But dont you remember that a fewmonths ago, they were 270's, fluctuating to the 280's. Thats much more reasonable. Slowly but surely its permanently rising

OK, so sell your products for 20-30 more lindens then you currently are. Thats not a crazy price hike and you wont be "hurt" as bad.
I don't see why you would complain about a high of 306L$ however, when just the other day there was a high of over 70,000L$ per $1USD.

Do you really expect that the L$ wouldn't fall the week after Linden Labs announced that they might be printing and selling L$--and changed the ToS to reflect that? It is not the fault of the L$ sellers that LL is undermining confidence in the value of the L$.

A few months ago the linden hadnt established a value yet. When you think about it its a very new currency and probably still hasn't. I expect it to keep going down. Do I like it? No. But thats just what its going to do,

I am actually hoping it last until at least Monday when I can afford to go premium and buy a few linden. Then I will start hoping for a rebound.
Isn't it like the stock market though. You buy low and sale high? I guess neither place is safe from risk.

I could raise my prices to reflect the exchange problem, but thats where it all starts. as the exchange goes down, the prices go up, no matter how subtle the change may be. A lot of the problem are sellers one-uping the number to sell quickly. Eventually this could be a large problem. There needs to at least be a cap or something. This isnt a problem within the last week, either-despite the considerations of changes to the linden dollar. AND the game is years old, so the "not established market rate as of 2 months ago" doesnt hold water with me. Im quite amazed that sellers dont have a problem with it more than this..bc even tho its not a huge issue TODAY..if this continues it could be bad news in a year or two.

How about instead of asking them not to sell, ask them to change their rates. If the rates are out of control, it is because the sellers are setting the prices too low.

Musicteacher, I agree. There are more than one way of fixing the problem. Its a matter of getting ppl to see the danger to the GAME itself if this continues.

Tabitha Send your complains to King Philip and the Linden Lab Cronies.. Their weak economic polices created this mess... Its not the fault of the traders buying and selling linden dollars, its the fault of the policy makers who allowed the currency supply to grow to L$650/million.

Yes Reserve! i completely agree. It is not the sellers and buyers who are at fault. It is the ones created the system, although we all have the power to keep it sane.

I fail to see how we have the power to keep it sane. And I agree that the real problem is the threat to the game. But that comes as much from the great divide between the haves and have nots as it does from inflation. Linden Labs could put a stop to this by fixing a price for Linden dollars. Although there are other exchanges, their prices could not deviate much from the "official" price or they would go in the hole on either the sell or the buy side.

Not that long ago, it was at 400 ... so seeing it at 300 should be a good deal for all you moneygrabbers out there... Let it find its own value and stop trying to control the exchange rate... It never works!

No. All we need is for there to be enough buyers to fill all those orders, and we can bring it down to the "normal range", whatever that is. Everyone is entitled to price competatively to ensure that they get their share of the limited buying power available. We're all entitled to liquidity, not just you.

Tabitha The price of gasoline is out of control, as well. If we all would just NOT buy gas for a day, all the oil companies would go bankrupt. arcastic:
