What I find confusing is, DreamLand and LL are not competetors. There would be no Dreamland if it wasnt for LL. And there still would be a LL if there was no Dreamland..... Very confusing

From: Adam Zaius we actually were around before Anshe started her own Zoned community Your first zoned sim was Meins, where you ripped off Anshe's zoned community in Midge. This was preceded by a super secret meeting between you, Nexus, Cristiano, flipper and a couple of other oldbies with a single agenda: "How to bring down Anshe?". From: someone when LL enabled Group deeding, we moved onto private islands. More accurate would be: "after Anshe moved onto private islands, we moved onto private islands".

Anshe and other landlords provide a valuable service I think beyond zoned land or allowing ppl to skip the capital investment of "buying" by "renting."
They, and the folks who work for them are middle-men, something we need a lot more of in SL. One problem to SL's survival IMHO was that it lacked job diversity. You could be an artisan, a real estate guy, or a service provider (usually sex related).
For example, the permissions system does not support much in the way of secondary jobs from content creation. I can't just make stuff and have someone else sell it for me.
On a side note, I too prefer our private island. Since we use it for business and as a giant sandbox we can't tolerate the kind of lag you see on the mainland... even back when we owned almost all of Riiki. And we don't belong in a zone sim cause sometimes our work *cough* crashes *cough* our sim.
And I have always found the Lindens to be good about customer service too, both back when we were on the mainland and now in Chaos.

This was preceded by a super secret meeting between you, Nexus, Cristiano, flipper and a couple of other oldbies with a single agenda: "How to bring down Anshe?" Actually the agenda was "How to keep your powermongering wife (and yourself when you play on her account as Bad Anshe) from buying up all of SL and letting one player control all of the malls, real estate, and web enterprises", which is bad for everyone in SL to be beholden to one person. That includes Anshe, Adam, or anyone else. That meeting took place long after when you are claiming, as Snapzilla was well established at the time and mainly the meeting was about sharing content among sites. Just wanted to clarify. Oh, and also you had some names wrong. Nexus was not there however, but fallen angel Hank Ramos was, as was Higbee Protagonist (of SL Parks and Recreation). Please at least get it accurate. Also, is Anshe the only person allowed to do a zoned sim? If that is the case, then Anshe ripped off Boardman in the first place, along with several other themed sims that existed while Anshe was still off nation building in Shadowbane.

For L$1 worth into this, the one time I contacted LL about an account transaction issue, I got a reply back within hours, and that's sending from Japan timezone. I mean, I've invested quite a bit into my LL experience just in the first month of doing it (bought 16k sq m with USD to L$ transaction) but I don't foresee an issue where the rapidity of help would make me feel like I wasn't getting my money's worth. To me, it's buying a fun time building and interacting; I don't make a living off it, I don't expect to make a profit from it or regain my investment, or whatever. I'm probably the odd one out on that, but just a view from a land owner. I figure that if I'm experiencing a problem worthy of serious concern, it means the whole grid is or there's a major bug that others are hammering about too. Maybe I just haven't hit a big problem yet and am naive. Pym

IMHO, Azure Islands is the pinnacle of zoned island sims. The customer service is excellent, the payment management system is easy and sends reminders when payment is coming up. The sims are nicely landscaped and have well designed infrastructure.
I would like to say that I don't feel you can truly compare LL and a zoned sim operation. LL has a lot more to deal with than just land.

Of the 3 entities discussed here, LL, Anshe, and Azure. I've recieved very positive responses from both LL and Azure on the nature of my research. both LL and Azure have agreed to let me use drones (this means explicit contact with staff members) to gather host data about the sim servers, resulting in my purchasing land through each to facilitate this. However, when approaching Anshe with respect to using drones, I was simply told that it was explicitly not allowed, even when I offered my drone code up for review. Aside from that, haven't had any negative contact with any of them related to my land.
