The way to count active accounts that we think is most meaningful is a trailing 60 day measure of unique log-ins. That number is currently just over 103,000, and will be included in the stats that we will be reporting daily, beginning next week. I think this is the first quasi-official, mostly-unambiguous statement of the SL population that has been given. Mind you, 60 days is a *long* time in attention span-space. I'd like to see 7-, 14-, 30-, and 60-day stats released. |

Data is certainly delicious...
My company is glad to see the 60 day total around 100,000. I had always assumed it was more around 20,000. I have a feeling the actual, non-alt, 30 day number is somewhere around 60,000 but that is still a really good number considering the technical issues and rule changes of the past year both good and bad.
