From: Gigs Taggart I've done some testing. It looks like a script with a listener in it shows up as about 0.2ms of script time, even if it's not doing anything. The ips stays low, and there isn't any lag associated with it, as long as it isn't on channel 0 and doing things every time it hears chat. I had 2000 listeners set up, script time was a solid 20ms, ips was barely affected, and there was no noticable lag, unless the listeners heard something. I still don't see 20ms shown just by virtue of having a script. Even a running script generally only uses about 2ms of time with no listeners. If you are referring to what I said earlier I think you are misunderstanding. Under the new way the stats are in some sims. Script time has nothing to do with what is actually in the sim or running in the way of scripts. Lets say there is 1 listen at the .2 you quoted and nothing else. The stats will still say a script time of 20. basically whatever isn't used by other things is allocated to script time regardless. The only way we can manage our scripts at all is ips, top 6, and trial and error.

I didn't see this, so I will post it here... This is simply the "Lag" page on the scripting wiki. Lots of wonderful advice. http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=lag

I just had a vision for an Uncle Sam kinda war poster, except the slogan on it is:
"THE LAG IS YOU!"
And when someone clicks on it, they get a nice notecard that explains how their avatars are causing all the lag and if they take off their bling and prim-hair and scripted attachments, they will experience a smoother SL.

From: Gigs Taggart I'm just not seeing that in any of the empty sims I visited. Could you give me the name of an empty sim that has this new behaviour? No I can't. This is how Lee Linden explained to me why after a recent update our script time on Dragon Isle doubled. Litterally we went offline for the update, logged back in and it was double. we went from total Frame time of 12 to TFT of 22.3 and Sctipt time of 7 to over 20. Our actual performance in terms of lag did not change I personally run 50 -90 FPS anywhere on the island. we have noticed from flying around some sims are on the old system and some on the new. Lee told us they are slowly moving them all to the new.

From: Darkness Anubis I personally run 50 -90 FPS anywhere on the island. Your local FPS is irrelevant to this. If the total frame time exceeds 22.2ms you will see the sim FPS drop below 45 and generally there will be time dilation. This is distinct from your local FPS.
