Donating First Land to a group

Here's a quick one that doesn't seem to be covered anywhere (that I can find with the wiki and search).

Firstly, can a user donate their First Land to a group? For the moment, we'll assume yes because otherwise my next question is pointless.

Secondly - if multiple users submitted their First Land to the group, would a tier be generated? Assuming that the group's land consists ONLY of First Land, and FL has no tier, would this mean that the group would have no actual tier to pay?


I'm slightly confused. If anyone has any insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated

I asked a similar question and got a reply from Guy Linden.

The short answer is NO a group can not own first land tier and can not buy first land.

A person CAN donate their first land allocation to a group but the moment they do that they LOSE their first land buying rights and these rights are NOT transfered to the group.

So to clarify, if 1536sqm of First Land was deeded to a group, the group would forfeit the L$0.00 tier and have to pay as though it was bought 'normally'?

To clarify: First land is normal land. The only difference is that premium newcomers can buy it at a steeply discounted price. Once it has been purchased it becomes standard land along with all the normal rules.

Just like all ohter land it has a tier cost associated. The only reason why you are not charged additional when you buy first land is because your premium account comes with enough tier to cover the cost (512sqm).

If you donate the land to a group you must also donate the Tier from your account with it, if that tier is removed from the group or someone else in the group does not donate enough to cover the cost the normal rules apply.

The one other point to make here is don't join any groups and donate your premium tier BEFORE you buy your first land. Once you have donated your tier to a group, whether or not you have purchased first land you will lose the right to purchase first land (a friend had this very thing occur) since technically you own land as part of the group.
