Group buying land - Can this be done?

I have searched everything I could find on a group purchasing land and could not find an answer to this question:

Can a group buy firstland?

My family has purchased 3 premium accounts and we plan to make a family group and donate our land allocations to the group.

At the moment none of us have used our firstland purchase rights so are still elligible to buy firstland at 512L for 512M2.

If we donate this land to the group can the group purchase firstland or do we need to individually make firstland purchases, sell the land, then donate our land allocations to the group?

Also, I know donating land to a group gives the group a 10% land bonus but I am not certain exactly how much land our group would be able to purchase before going up in tier. 3x512M2 = 1536M2, 10% of 1536M2 = 153.6M2, 1536M2+153.6M2 = 1689.6M2. Did I do those calculations correctly and if so does that mean the group can purchase 1689M2 or do I round up to 1690M2 before I get bumped up a tier?

On a side note can any land be used for setting up a shop or are there zoning laws? Are certain areas residential only?

Also, is there a time limit on purchasing firstland (like it must be done in the first 30 days etc) and you lose that ability, or is it unlimited time based only on when you make your first purchase of land?

Hello Tabitha. Let me try to answer this for you.

First Land can only be purchased by an individual. If members donated their land allotment to a group, and the group holds any amount of land, the allotment has been made available for use by the group and the individual no longer has the ability to buy First Land.

There is no time limit on First Land. The requirement is that the individual has never owned land before.

Your group calculations are pretty close. If a group has 1536m donated to it, it should earn 153m bonus land with no additional tier. So, as a group, all of you would be able to hold 1689m for the cost of each single 512m donation. If one of you should have to remove the contribution, it will be up to the other members of the group to increase individual tier and donate to the group to cover the amount of land held by the group.

Generally speaking, there are no zoning laws on the mainland regions. However, all builds should abide by the terms of the Community Standards.

I hope this helps clear things up for you.
