From: Rickard Roentgen question for clarification: how often do the vendex vendors update their prices? If this question was already answered, I missed it, apologies if this post is redundant. Rickard, you can choose how often your vendors update your prices. You can choose to have them update hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Hourly updates of course mean the most volatility in pricing and monthly being the most stable for your customers. Whichever frequency you choose, the price is based on the AVERAGE L$ value, not the most recent amount posted for sale on the LindeX (which will avoid setting your prices right when someone typoed 3300 instead of 330, for example) I know some people, myself included, had worries about that. Sol, please correct me if I'm wrong on any of the above data! But I believe that information to be correct.

This looks like a dandy little item. However, I don't think the customers will like much having the prices of things change so often (and as far as they may know, so arbitrarily). I know I wouldn't.

In response to Starley's response!

Hi, I'm the second half of SoLur Industries, and as such am responding for Sol. Starley has it exactly right. Here, let me set this as an example of how the system works.
Lets say the vendor is a traveling sales person. Upon being hired, he is given that time as his call in time to check the company's price on the product he is selling. He calls in once a day, every day, at that time.
In the background, at the branch office, is a person updating the price list every (hour, day, week, month), whichever the branch manager decides. At the coporate headquarters there is another person constantly updating the given price list all the time every day, but the branch offices each choose their own policy regarding the updates to their salespeople.
Back to our lil traveling salesman, when he was hired, he was given his price for the product and sent on his merry way and told to check in once every 24 hours starting the moment of his hiring. His price being that of whatever his manager had decided at the time of his hire.
So lets say the manager had decided his branch would go for the weekly update from Corp HQ. Our lil salesman happily calls in once a day, for 7 days, but the price list for him is the same, so no changes... on the 8th day he calls in and is given the -new- price list. Which, the Central office had fed down to the branch office that day, and hence is fed to our happy lil salesman. And the process repeats.
This is not taking into account of course that in the real world each item is at it's own price, which is converted from the USD into L$ transparently. The VendeX Server grabs (at the interval set by the owner, hour, day, week, month) the Daily Computed Average L$ from an online database that is constantly updated, not the current max price. The the server passes this number down to the vendors, which in turn each compute the price in the notecard into the correct amount as desired.
Any questions please feel to contact myself or Sol Columbia!
