It would be really cool if we had a waterbox. Others think so too...

Could this be done? Pretty please?

I've passed this one to the land development team. But I'd be interested in knowing what the water adds. I'm going to copy this to the Land forum for discussion.

off the top of my head it would add ability to build boats.

Oooh..kay...

So, what's the point, exactly? Other than testing boats, which can be done anywhere where there's.. you know... water.

Currently we have no sandbox area under water. If you try and build in a water area, chances are that your build gets rudely interrupted every 5 minutes by auto return.

I want to be able to spend a day building, scripting and perfecting a water craft in the company of my peers the way we do in Cordova.

Java has some water area...

Java sandbox has a partial water area. Unless you're planning to build something the size of a battleship or an oil tanker, it should be enough.

People are building these.

Yes, but that wouldn't be in a sandbox, would it?

Do you want me to make one for you? I have a lot of water by the Sutherland dam. It would be great to have people building boats there.

Currently there's noplace people can build underwater constructions, or safley works on boats.

I know I'd love it if somebody made a water-sandbox

That would be cool. But make sure you charge money for it, or else your damaging the economy. ;)

waterbox added!
04-22-2005 15:06
There is a new waterbox at Uzume (114, 117)

Ok, its very small at 352 sq. m, and supports only 80 objects, but for those of you who are looking for a waterbox, this might be your place to play. The land is dropped to the lowest point I can get it, so look for a hole in the ocean floor. Scripting is allowed for now. I haven't even added a sign on the land saying that its a sandbox, because I wanted to save the prim.

If I get excessive complaints about pushes, kills, or whatever else, I'll turn scripting off.

And if this proves to be really popular, you bet I'll get a bigger place!

have fun!

If anyone wants to my land in Carolina (220,40) is mostly water. I can set the autoreturn to a high number or even turn it off on serious projects. I have about 600prims not in use. Plus im building a boat too and would love the company/advice. My land is in the SE corner of Carolina.
