From: someone While streaming media has a certain cool factor, I would have preferred to see improvements in other areas of SL, myself. Zoning, inventory accountability, better event tools. I like streaming media too. I also would love to see zoning, improved inventory reliability, and event tools (among many others). SL will evolve over many months, and positive feedback is the best way to influence change -- not the endless squawking of a chronically angry raven.

From: Prokofy Neva I want to question why streaming media is considered such a big deal when a) it isn't working so hot (me and other players with crash/lockup issues are even being asked to turn it off LOL) and b) you can get it in RL. I know everyone thinks it is the thing that will mesh RL and SL together. I guess I'm not so certain that is true, or a good idea. So it is a philosphical debate to be had without references to reproduction, urination, and other RL functions, thank you. you don't get it prok, but many players do, god bless them. just the other day i was manipulating prims and in flew my partner in crime and asked me what i was doing. when i told her i was converting a texture on my prim into a movie she got very excited because she got it. and so do all the other 512 m2 buying hoochie hair owning players who never read the forum. you will get it too, god bless your soul. LMAO BTW WTF - it's not about making SL like RL- ROFL (STFU HEHEHE)! U R WOOC

Using your Rosanne example I can watch it on my RL TV but I can't want it with my SL friends on my real TV. I wanted to stream in Buffy and have a slumber party where we all sat around and watched Buffy episodes together. Unfortunately I can't get a streaming server to work. /cry

I guess I view the streaming movies similar to how I view the streaming sex, that it just seems to be better in RL than in here, where it seems cumbersome and ridiculous to boot.

The technology hasn't progressed far enough yet to match what RL can offer. The technology probably won't ever get there if we don't work at it first. I'd like to think what we've got now (SL) is a step or two down that path. |

i know a couple of people with your same outlook...the game sucks, the people here are asses, and linden lab isnt doing the right stuff to make it better. and yet these are the people that spend the most time here. well not the most, thatd be me, but why not find a game you like rather than bringing everyone elses experience down?
