They should give stipends to alt accounts that you pay 9.99 for.

What they should do is stop all stipends. Then start compiling some
GDP numbers to gauge economic growth. Then grow or deflat the
money supply accordingly based on those numbers..

Growing the money supply because the population grows is terrible.
You (ONLY) grow the money supply if the "economy" begins feeling
the pinch of deflation. Then pump out a few linden dollars as stipend
for a month until the deflation goes away. If Inflation begins, then
halt all stipends increase sinks....

But as long as LL keeps the money machine printing, we are doomed.
See the big Red Bubble? That is where Second Life's economy is right now.

Right Right... but nonetheless... a step [if babystep] in the right direction.

I mean, they could be doing something hippy like increasing stipends :P

Reserve: That's also where the USD and virtually all other first world nation currencies are at too, why don't you go picket the Federal Reserve?

For those of you who want to end stipends, here's a chance to step up to the plate. Several of us have already:

Here is the map which shows the inflation rate across the planet.
The problem with SL, is their inflation rate is nearly 200% a year.
In about 6/months the Currency Float will be double its May06 L$650k
rate.

I'm with that guy....stipends should be there for economic adjustment purposes only. Not a guaranteed something for nothing policy.

How many new threads on the same subject do you need? Saying the same thing lots of times wont get you different responses.

Actually an incredibly large step in thw WRONG direction, but then with so many misleading them as to the REAL cause of the isue it was bound to occur. Now we can watch an even faster decline in the economy as in world content sales fall and shops close and content creators leave.

Now if we could only get the lunatics who keep saying
"I paid for my stipends" to realize that, life will be much better for all
without a never ending stipend supply..

A never ending stipend supply is inflationary... Without a doubt.

Mines guaranteed because I pay them premium fees. Definately not something for nothing.

You're right. It's actually nothing for something. You paid money for a nothing, since it didn't cost LL anything to give you that $L, which in turn spreads that nothing over the rest of the $L out there, bit by bit.

It's not something for nothing. Stipends are part of the value proposition between Linden Labs and the premium account holder. The premium account holders buy their lindens from LL.*

I believe it was once said doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different response is the definition of insanity.

*and before someone jumps all over me, yes, I do know that LL creates the lindens.

An alt account that pays 9.99 is not a basic account. They will get their stipend. Theoretically LL has no convenient/fast way of knowing who owns the alt accounts.
