it would be good to offer mp3 uploading and distributing either free or as vendor
option to record/media labels like ourselves.
a very simple process like itunes makes you go through. proof of digital distrobution rights (which is simple) and quality control, would help bring more attention and creative folk here.
the ability to play them in sl should remain the same policy, but the ability to buy/sell/trade/ give should be given to the users.
especially if they could make it to where it could only be played in a small limited area of the avatar.
the ability to rent streams from sl vendors has actually created more copyright infringments than damper.
i do not believe any of the top40 pop/rock/dance/hiphop music in sl is legal , if any, it is only a small percentage.
sl should make broadcasters and hosters apply for a different status in sl and incourage self policing, otherwise it will eventually bring down riaa or other organisations to sl, and will in the end make them cease all music activitys.

That's almost a 3-year necro there, Pirate. I think you just set an SL forum record!

And welcome to the forums, BTW. Looks like you have some interesting ideas on music distribution within SL. For future reference, it might be better to start your own thread than to revive one that hasn't been posted to in years. :)
