Start Using CUT & PASTE within 2ndLife Classes

The Mentors, Instructors, Mods, (whatever) should start Cutting and Pasting from a preweitten TEXT file that has everything 2B typed during an 2ndLife In-world class (event)

This will Not only cut down on the Typing time. It will ALSO make it easier 4 STUDENTS!!
Rather than trying 2 Speed-Type script lines 2 stay up with class,, they can CUT & PASTE from the Chat window into their Scripts line by line

STUDENTS can also CUT from the Chat History window (after class) and paste it into a simple windows-text file for Later Review(print out). & when Re'Reading the Chat-History,, it would B as though class was repeated! & they can re-study @ their OWN pace!

This would be an interesting feature to impliment though, I agree it would speed up mentor/teacher typing delay, however, wouldnt pasting from a notecard simply make the class less dynamic? Personally, I kind of like to ask/answer questions during the lesson, pertaining to the subject being talked about.

I already use this "copy and paste" thing you're talking about for my building class.

Cutting and pasting won't necessarily make the class less dynamic. There are many instructions that the event-holder can have ready to simply paste and this definitely cuts down on time. If people have questions they can still ask.

As a side note, I would have responded to this, but the phrase 'systematic biasum' makes no sence. This is partially due to the fact that 'biasum' is not a word. And if you decide to call me inferior or uneducated, I'll laugh my head off.

PDA (costing $400.00+ dollars) users and growing #of colleges students use it all the time! -- "In CHATS" not term papers!

.. what is this? I've never typed like that B4 in my life! my use of such short hand chat is done intelligently.
'4' = Four, For, Fore - '2' = Two, Too, To = etc.
- ok ok I use PDA's and have adapted 2 limited strings. There4 I use single # in place of words that sounds like them 2 have more 2say without running out of space.. sorry
but I do it "Mindfully" not "Senselessly" I think U R pushing U'r point 2hard!

*When in chat, what U type is gone 4ever after hitting return. There4, typing a thesis using big words [ & I dont mean in CAPS] is pointless. But getting the POINT accross is.

Which is all I tried 2do.

I wasn't complaining about spelling, Sel... I've stopped doing that after I annoyed myself. It's the actual fact that the phrase makes no sense.

Writing and speaking correct English is its own reward. You don't need a reason, you just need to do it, if only to better fit in with the forum crowd, out of respect and as a courtesy to us.
I don't type like that on my cell phone, let alone on ICQ/MSN/AIM and certainly not in a forum where replies aren't time-critical.
But then again I'm a touch-typist.
If you don't think what you're posting is worth writing in english, then I don't think it's worth the time to decipher it.

On the other hand, Eggy, while I don't like shorthand in typing either, your "it could make you look like a teenager" sort of sucked. I was 19 (a teenager) for the first few months I was playing, making me neither a minor nor a child per se, and I was never put into a "Ban Daemioth for being young" bubble. I think if you stuck with "eloquence relates to maturity etc." your point would have stood much better without stepping on anybody's toes. Namely mine.

Gee thought this was a post about a handy tip for events !

Why do peeps get so hung up on language etc. English is evolving ( case in point ..the apostrophe which acedemics consider optional in todays society )

So what if people (see I do know the real word ) want to communicate in a fun shorthand...does that detract from the meaning of their posts ? No... Keep the forum fun, light and friendly.

More annoying to me is the political correct interceder who must correct spelling and grammar to the point that the point of the thread is lost ...
