just simply you can only take out of the game what you put in it and for tier fees and memberships then theres no profit so to say and you can be as rich as you wanna be in sl which is suppose to be a game so that would keep it a game. just a thought

Here's an even easier solution to the gambling ban. Get over it already! If you still feel the need to throw your money away foolishly that badly just send random amounts to the former casino owners of your choice. I'm sure they'd appreciate it since they're apparently all going backrupt due to this sudden and shocking twist of fate...

suppose to be a game LL considers SL a platform, not a game. This is the reason fellow customers of SL are the content providers. If you remove the economic factor, you'll loose most of the big projects and content makers who you buy all the fun stuff from. Then SL would be dead boring. |

Are there really that many people whose only reason for being in Second Life was gambling? If that's the case... what a shame, they're missing out on some much.

We dont need a solution to the gambling ban.
It's gone, get over it. If you really want to gamble, IM me or my alt Itchy Gamba and I'll challenge you to a game of chess(i've seen boards in SL before so it shouldn't be to hard to find one), for lindens of course. Its completely legal to play each other for lindens in a game of chess. Its been a while since i've played chess but im pretty good so it could be quite fun. _____________________

"Here's an even easier solution to the gambling ban. Get over it already! " oh yes please. It's like a bunch of 5 year olds trying to find a way around the set rules.

I have to agree "get over it". If you really want to give your money away i know a few people who would be glad to have some of it.

You could only spend it on more gambling or on no transfer prizes sold by the casino (which are covered by the novelty prize clause as they are no transfer so cannot be sold for money) I suspect such a casino would still be shut down by an over zelous linden without realising it complys with the rules. And even if it isnt, its so vunerable to their next rule change whatever that is. |

There is a SL game called Dark Life, a kind of D&D syle game inside SL. It uses it's own game currency, independant of linden dollars. Something like that could theoretically allow gambling to be done, shoudl an enterprising scripter create a scripted currecny system similar to that. Of course, seeing as how the gamblers can't win any money, they won't be so motivated to play, and seeing as how gamblers won't be putting in so much money, casino operators won't be so motivated to build such a system. But i do believe it would satisfy the LL rules on this matter.

Judging by some of the posts here, I get the feeling that many of the gamblers and casino addicts would be perfectly ok with that, so long as the roulette tabes and slots keep going. |

I hate to agree but I do, it seems a lot are crying out in selfishness rather than any "r the Good of SL " ideal. *shrugs* _____________________

Do you understand what the term "easy" means, kid? *grins* I came ~this~ close to losing my morning coffee on that one ![]() The EASY way to have gambling in SL is to play the games without having to pay in, and no pay out. That way you can play the game, but don't need to worry about a ban. No L$, no worries. ~Jessy _____________________

Not only is the OPs idea dumb.
Theres no way to be sure it even complies with the Interent Gambling Site restrictions Credit Card Companies have to follow. |

But none of the hardcore gamblers want to just play the games. The games are no "fun" to them unless there's the risk of losing big money.

LOL its not the risk of losing big money that drives them exactly. Its that one lucky payday where they MAKE big money. And sure enough if the OPs provisions were put in place, the "Winners" and Casino owners would still be selling their Lindens on some 3rd Party Site somewhere. |

I don't have a big urge to gamble... but when it hits... my partner and I (and maybe some friends) go to a RL regulated casino here in The Netherlands or to the one just here over the German border. And we make a great evening of it... dressing all up, having a nice dinner together and spend a little money in the casino (but mostly we watch). And no, this haven't to be very expensive at all. How about betting lindens to win "currency" used to buy extreamly expensive no transfer items like skins, prefabs, dragon avs etc or even cheaper things like quality hair or no transfer clothing.

Morwen. I love RL casinos, I go to Atlantic City and the Indian casinos in Conneticuit at least once a month, and Vegas once a year. I do the same thing, get all dolled up and hit the craps tables, or baccarat. But I find online gambling awfully boring, just no energy for me. _____________________

But the German one in the town of Bad Bentheim is wonderful... A very old town, which a big old casstle on the hills around it. It is really a sight to see. Bad Bentheim and its casino are my favourite. Vegas... maybe I should go there once... if I can get long enough free from my work to make a visit to US worthwhile. Morwen. |

Morwen. Everyone should see Vegas at least once. Even if you don't gamble there is so much to see and do. I recommend the night time helicopter flights over the city, absolutely breathtaking. _____________________
