Not sure, but thought one of the main points originally made was to balance the playing field betwwen mainland sims and Island sims.

"That'd be a good point in another discussion, I guess. But here? I didn't say 'having few avatars in a sim makes it fast'. I said 'having too many avatars in a sim makes it slow'."

As I mention that doesn't seem to hold true for island owners until well over what would shut a mainland sim down, period.

As a side note campers, grrrr.
I admit , used to do a bit myself. Mostly at the outside theater where I could watch movies, but I was dumb camper, for the most part I was always there online at my keyboard with my avi. Stupid, I know. Then one day, someone gave me an anti-idler, and while digging a hole in rl I injured my arm and couldn't move for almost a month. I took the time to sit again camping and only created an enemy for my thoughtless exploit of getting paid to much by the owner and being permently banned from the property.
That being said, I think if anyone is not at the keyboard actively in world and hasn't been in ten or so minutes they should be logged off. If the owner wants to pay for traffic Lindens should just set up a sliding scale traffic number vendor, sell the desired traffic numbers (don't need real traffic, its not real now anyway lol), rake in the money and reduce the resource hogs.

Apart from the fact that the camping sim owners don't care if they're lagging or crashing because nobody's doing anything on them anyway... an isolated island sim has no child agents, and isn't sharing data with neigboring sims.

An island sim is more likely to be Class 5.

Try for a corner Class 5 sim in the new continent.

Heh. "Traffic boost auctions". That'd be more honest.
