Better way is to use copybot to sell/give cheap landbots to all & sundry till the grid collapses and LL are forced to do something about both

heh some of us with eyes that are doing strange things due to age have a lot of trouble with those systems and often take about 20 tries to actually get one you can read well enough to pass them . By then someone else has bought the land. Recently buttons have had to be added so you can select to hear the obscured writing that you can't see just cause your not 20 anymore and have bifocals and astigmatism etc etc so they would need to add that as well or risk a problem with the community that is in that category which is larger then one might think leaving due to accessiblity issues. So being one who has often had to give up signing up for some things because the letters are so messed up I can't see them well enough to decipher them I would say that would be a no thanks please and bye I no longer can read in almost total darkness with the light of say a candle or the light from a tv. I dont like it but that's life. Half these systems are devised by "young people" who dont care or think about the other half of the population that probably has more money and actualy probably more time because of their age.

Well the animation is an interesting idea, you'd have to somehow animate the letters/numbers themselves, have them fade in/out or some such. The example image you gave, while an example, would be no good as it makes it easier for a bot to pull out the numbers/letter by simply looking at which parts don't animate.

From: Tegg Bode Better way is to use copybot to sell/give cheap landbots to all & sundry till the grid collapses and LL are forced to do something about both Now thats complete nonsense, because Bots are not LSL Scripts and Copybot is unable to copy Scripts anyway. Using something like a Captcha is still a good idea, why not use a new / not yet Hacked kind of Captcha ? Example : show a Picture of a simple Object like a Car, House, Tree, Bucket.... the User has to write the Name of the Object. Time Penalty if wrong. By the Way... 'Time Penalty'... did you notice seaching for 'Land for Sale' is Limited ? A single Bot can not 'Hammer' the SL Servers all the Time, one needs a lot of Bots to do that. This will lead to... guess What ? Yes, LAG

All it would take is for LL to rate limit the searches across all alts instead of the current limit per account. Anyone using alts that aren't registered as alts, give them the boot for a TOS violation.
