Ok. I'll admit it. I LOOOOOVE texturing and making new characters. I do a lot of stuff by hand for my characters and what I do is run Second Life in window mode, scan my hand draw textures in - do some Photoshop work - and see how they look on my characters. It's is kind of hard to get my work done efficiently when I can only play for a few hours a day for three days a week. The other days I go into work an hour before log-in hours and get home five (5) hours after!

What I am asking for is a stand-alond client. a "model-viewer" if you will. This will help me get the textures right on my characters before I waste $10L every time I upload and test it out. I've wasted a lot of money on this process already. You could do this by making the character "models" exportable from the game itself (like the models in Half-Life)... or any idea that Linden can think of will be equally acceptable.

I realize it'll take a lot of work to accomplish this, but all-in-all... it's a pretty reasonable request.

by the way, uploading textures to the "model-viewer" should not upload them to the game.... therefore, not costing us $10L. HAHA. But seriously, this idea should be put under serious consideration. It'll be a Linden's little 3D application! ^_^

right well i thought about searching for all the other threads that asked for a stand alone client, but well that would take way to long, so here is a thread that has a work around for you to use in the time being :D

Thanks a lot. I didn't realize there were so many other threads like this one.

heh this is probably the second most requested thing, only thing that beats it is people asking for more time! did you find the program and english translation? everyone who uses it tells me it helps out quite a bit.

well I did find the english translation, but it didn't work properly. I honestly thought the program was a big waste of time. Not enough choices when it came to clothing. And the screenshot and pasting idea is quite elementary. However, I have gotten better at the placement of my textures on the templates through trial and error. I'm on my way. :)

Thanks for the help.
