Hmmm, well, I read the "how to make avatar clothing" files that i got from this site, and well....i dont take directions verry well. lol. i like to figure things out on my own and usually end up doing it the hard way. But hey, whatever works right? right! Ok so i was playing around with a few programs and i made some really really great avatar clothing. Ill put them on tomorrow to show em off. Maybe Ill start my own "line of clothing". Hehehe. I made some really great tattoos too and finally got it placed right on the avatars body where i wanted it. Woohoo! One thing i would like to learn is...how to make skirts. Does anyboddy know that would take the time to help me out?

Yeah i got it thanks. I thought i had more land than i did then i realised there was a view property lines option. I completely demolished my place n e ways becuase i was building a tattoo and piercing shop but got too short on funds and unbelievably, i talked to 2 people yesterdat who said they were going in together to do the exact same thing and asked if i wanted to be a part of it too. Yay!

Sharing the Knowlege....
03-02-2003 10:01
Ok well....i suppose i could share my secret.
I use a french avatar creating program for VRML called Avatar Studio. I create an avatar on that with whatever clothing i want on it. I design all the clothes in the program that i want on my SL avatar. THen i save it.
I open up the SL Avatar template that i got from this site then i open the JPG file from the VRML avatar i made in my program.
The rest is Verry simple....All i do from there is cut and paste the back part of the pants to the back part on the template and same with the front (same goes for the shirt).
THen its done. with hardly no work at all. I hope this didnt seem confusing because its verry simple.

receiving the knowledge

Ok, I'm downloading the sucker... and I've also located patches to translate it to English since my French is a little rusty =)
If this works for me I'd be more than happy to pay you a L$ referral fee, and I encourage everyone else who goes this route to do so as well.

Sounds Good to me. Just a little info though, ive found that making pants in the program is super easy, dont make it more complicated than it has to be. Just take the Lower body template, and the jpg file for the clothes your using and just cut, and pase, then resize, and save. You dont even really have to worry about alpha channelling anyhting at all. It could be the same for some shirts but for ones with a plunging neckline and whatnot, it may be more difficult. Good luck!

Pardon me, i was taking a look at that program, and was wondering if you (either Alpha or Shebang, or anyone else for that matter) could post the url for the english patch. My french, at best, leaves much to be desired, lol. Anyway, thnxs in advance.
