Or, try making a gun where you dont have to give copy permissions to the buyer for the bullet.
Why do you expect that llGiveMyself() would not require that the buyer to have copy permissions for the bullet? :puzzled:

considering your post is 2 years old you'll probably never read this but maybe someone else will get some use out of this answer here's my "simple" dillema... you want to sell someone object a you want them to be able to sell object a and give you a cut evertime they do you want them to not have copy perms because that would reduce commissions so you put a copy of object a in object a then when you sell them object a, they get the copy problem is that the copy doesn't have a copy of object a in it even if you put a copy of object a inside the copy of object a the person who tries to resell object a can only sell to buyers not to resellers because the copy of the copy of object a that was inside the copy of object a that was inside object a is empty so you can sit there putting copies of copies of copies inside of copies of copies of copies of copies all day but eventually, somewhere down the line someone will get an empty object a at this point you pull out your hair, scream and jump out the window at least I did I can't think of a way to do this without a vending server which is more research and hassle that I wouldn't need if I coul just use a llCopySelf() command ech ...and I can't see a good solution either. At least llCopySelf() would be waaay easier. A possible security feature which would make this safe from self-replicators would be to allow only giving self to AGENTS, not OBJECTS??? |

some time ago I've saw someone askign if it was possible to have a vendor sell prim clothing that woudl be customized to fit exactly the buyer, withotu the need of making several varitons of wach piece of th eclothes, with this feature it owudl be possible to have th evendor rez a what the buyer is bbuying and the iten woudl adjust itsefl by scritp before giving itself ready to be used tot he cbuyer
yeah, I know it would make grey goo atacks easier , but I thin the focuse regarding that woudl be working ont he fence instead of shooting down usefull stuff, without this function people are already being able to atack witht e current fence... if I had votes avaiabel I woudl vote for this idea |

Possibility that makes this function useful, even to the extent that the OP wanted, yet doesn't enable Grey Goo:
llGiveMyself() derezzes the object everytime as per the OP note on no-copy objects. |

I would certainly like this too. I'm making an object which rezzes multiple parts (to allow it to move dynamically), and it has the ability to customise it by dropping things into contents. Having the root object just take its child prims back into itself (or have them send themselves back) would be much handier.

theres workarounds to do this, but i cant share cuz im a jerk Some of them are fine for some cases, but what I want would require llGiveSelf() if it's to remain simple enough for the end user to warrant doing it. _____________________

btw, I believe you might be able to make copies of most objects byt having a combination ofparameter reporting scripts on the original prims (with llGetPrimitiveParams to gather the data) and some juggling with link permissions, rezzer and llSatLinkPrimitiveParams
mm...lol, I just realised this won't be giving a copy, it will jus tbe making a copy while the stuff is rezzed :/ |

So... how's progress on this goin'? I can already see the uses of this function (and its misuses <.<
![]() btw- bafilius Goff, the object_rez() event could be a solution to your pyramid scheme type project (which I think, is still against the CS)! _____________________
