It would be really great if pants on female avs could have the option of being a bit longer. I havent tested my male av but I always feel like my pants are too short.

That's annoying me too T_T...i textured some really nice jeans but I have to wear them short like capris or they look stupid ending above the ankles at 100 length. It doesn't seem as bad on the guys tho.

Noted, will try to fix for next release.
In the mean time, if you want the pants to fit lower on the ankles, try moving the "pants fit" slider all the way to "loose", and also try playing with the "cuff flare" slider. If your pants length is 100, these sliders tend to lower the end of the cuff past the ankle. -Xenon |

Thanks for the quick reply!
I have another pants thought.. I made a tux and noticed when I wear no socks I get a brown stripe along the bottom of the pant legs. If I put on black socks the stripe turns black. The pants arent quite black so I had to resolve it by making socks the same color as the pants. After all this I remembered that jeans often have a weird stripe around the bottom too. Must we always wear socks the color of our pants to avoid this? |

I would like to see some additional sliders for pants.
1) the crotch being able to lower pretty much to the ankles 2) the crotch being able to split horizontally. 3) those sliders being seperate from the legs. if you used this, you could technically make skirts and dresses that actually moved with the body as one piece. just a thought - sure I am missing some. _____________________

I made a change to the way the pants length slider works so that the cuff will extend below the ankles if you max the slider. I was also able to get rid of that annoying stripe at the bottom of the pants cuff. Look for these changes to appear in the 0.5 release, if not sooner.
Regarding extending the pants sliders to support skirts and dresses: Those are some interesting suggestions, Jaxiam. Unfortunately, I don't think they would have the effect you would want. The reason is that the crotch is "grouped" to different bones in the avatar skeleton than the legs are. If you stretched the crotch low to simulate a dress, it would still move as if at crotch level and would not move in a realistic way around the legs. The legs would constantly break through the dress as you walked, and it would really look bad when you sat down. Not to mention the horrible, horrible texture stretching that would occur. Eventually, we'll have a better solution to support skirts and dresses, but that's probably a ways off. I've seen some great looking skirts and dresses SLifers have made using attached primitives, so you might want to try that route in the mean time. -Xenon |

I was thinking of expanding the legs versus the crotch. /13/d8/2550/1.html _____________________

Oh I love this thread! How about the shirts on men beinga bit longer? I've noticed some bellys hanging out when men put on shirts with low jeans. The only work around i've found so far is to make the shirts as jackets then they hang down over the pants.

I'd also like to be able to hike up the pants above the waist line. Right now I just put the top of a pants texture on my shirt...
