I wish there was some way we could control our own NPC avatars.
I think it would be really interesting to develop SL as a storyboarding environment, so when you go to propose movies you could use SL as a place to model them.
You could even have people come in and 'interact' in the movies.

I am in the process of designing a Machinima engine for SL that should allow full staging of movement, particle effects, AV animations, sounds, etc... It will support both realtime and image by image rendition. In fact most of the design is done and I just need a week off to write it
