An open reply to the community and lindens, How would you like it if your land, your art, your soul, your 2nd life's ambitions was ripped away from you. That's right stolen, unjustly taken with no warning. It has happened friends! The Homeys are a persecuted group. We have come to realize this. We are ok with this fact. We are tortured artists. That is where the subject matter for some of our art comes from. It is because we are hated by some Lindens that I feel our land was STOLEN (READ - taken from us with no compensation.) We were just minding our own business. We bought some land in Rose. First our house that I paid 1000L for disappeared. Okay it was caused by a glitch supposedly. No problem. I filed a report and nothing ever came of it. Then a new apartment building was built in the 'hood. Very well, good to have new neighbors I thought. Well some of the neighbors are VERY rude to me, but I am used to it and I just live my second life. Well I was doing some art (it was the middle piece of my collection called - "Fat Chance" one day and the landlord of the apartments comes out yelling and screaming that we were ruining her view and something about her property value was going to go way down and something about the all mighty dollar etc. Well I explained to the lady that it was our land and we could decorate in whatever way we wanted that did not interfere with the TOS. We were very careful to not do anything to violate the TOS. Well Ms. Landlord Lady gets all beside herself and starts complaining to anyone that would listen. Well, before you know it, half the residents of the apartment complex are trying to pick on the Homeys. They zap us, launch us into space (which I have filed several reports on, to no avail), and just generally picked on us. We took the high road and just continued doing our art. The next day rolls around and guess what. Yep you could see the flames for miles. Our LAND, OUR ART, STOLEN - STOLEN! By "Agent Linden", no compensation, no explanation, simply taken caused of the apartment dwellers agitation. Is this what we want people? Do we want the Lindens to take away our land and delete our art just because one group may not like it? I know not all of you like the Homeys or me. I know we have rubbed some of you the wrong way. I know that we are very funny folks and that makes some people mad. But listen, we are fighting for the rights of everyone! We want our voice to be heard! Take up our cause and fight with us. All we want is our land and art back. We want the harassment by the apartment dwellers and lindens (not all Lindens, just the ones that hate us and are looking for any opportunity to steal our land and try to suspend us) to stop. Join with us my friends! Take up the good battle! EZ MONEY FOR CONGRESS! You know, scripts!

EZ haven't you been banned already for being a jerk? Didn't you ahve to create a second account to get back in?
I believe people said PopPop was yours, well I was at an event where poppop just started harrassing us and ruining it.
I have no sympathy for you or your lies.... Since when was Rose your Hood? It was Charlies And Lyn's before it was anyone elses.
Your art, was not art, i saw it.... Yes I know the word art is very vague these days, but why was it not ina building? Why was it the ugliest crap on earth? Why was it jsut a picture of a big fat woman? Come one noone is gonna believe your lies. Get a life.

Well technically I was the first landowner in Rose, but I ceded my land to Charlie and Lynnix and decided to move to Slate.

One mans trash is another mans treasure.
If you agree with that then you must also agree thatt not everyone wants your "treasure" in their own backyard.

EZ - the nicest thing I can think to say is that you found some grey area in the ToS and wanted to illustrate it as a problem to the rest of us. I don't think that's the case though. Rather you are using the abiguous wording to hide behind while you harrass people and be a nuinsance. I hope you don't think you're fooling anyone about protecting your rights.
Its arguable that Aiko was wrong to not notify everyone about her plan, but your reaction is far more wrong. At least she is contributing to the community, where as you drove out a number of good people. I'm no longer even able to walk over to my friends house because people have all kinds of attacking and launching scripts running in Rose right now in an attempt to 'protect the peace'
This is all so out of hand, and don't you have anything better to do?

I like your island idea Catherine
I think it could be done very nice and look beautiful and maybe tropical, but unfortunately we must remember that SL is a business for LL. They have to make money and their business model requires a certain number of paying customers per sim...
We wouldn't want them to go out of business, cuz then it would all be gone, and I'd have to start sleeping again.

Johnathan thanks for the support. I thought about what you said about having to have so many paying customers per sim. Well honestly that realy isnt my problem its thier job to make sure i have an enjoyable experience. Along those same thought lets take a look at boardman. How many ppl live there? not many how do they justify having it open? How do they afford it? What I am suggesting is something very simular only fewer lots farther apart with water surrounding them. If I was given the chance today to live in boardman with the lot size doubled and no restrictions on using a house in a box but rather my own tastefully done home. Sure I would. I dont think i am asking for too much. As far as my final thought on cost to run a sim I dont know what they are but you can bet your bottom dollar I have figured out how much my yearly subscription cost was! Cat

hehe good point about Boardman, I think they had a good idea with it but put too many restrictions on it...
They need to start some sims like that and turn the controls over to a self run gov....
I am thinking of drafting up my proposals for a self run gov soon, I figure it wouldn't hurt for the Lindens to see all of our proposals.
Also to those who say they dont want govs in SL.... There are ways to work around this... There can be some places where anything goes and you have complete freedom..... But for those of us who want to be able to keep the griefers out let us have our govs..
Another point on the whole freedom issue, remember your freedom ends where another persons freedom begins.... give one person too much freedom and they impose on the other persons freedom.... this is why there are such things as gov.'s and why there will be such things in SL...
JV
man i gotta stop rambling

From: someone Originally posted by Thor Arbuckle Just to make things straight.....
The peace part of the demonstration was only me...silently protesting against both arguing sides...casue they were all acting like 5-year-olds.
(I was the one handing out those peacesigns) You were out there handing out pro-peace signs?! Awesomeness I wish I knew that. I'd have liked to be a part of that! But just so you know, I wasn't referring to your campaign. I was referring to the 'Homey gambit'. I can't drive home the point enough that people who are unwilling to sit down and talk peace shouldn't be taken seriously when protesting for peaceful discourse. The Homeys are getting off on being 'persecuted' ... and I must admit that it seems somewhat paramasterbatory. (I love that term!) The clothing kinda gives it away too. I've learned a few things about apartment buildings in this debacle: (1) Lag. At six stories high, we get a lot of lag at Rose, IMO. In the future, two 3-story buildings would be great. I'm getting rather lagged in my apartment, and I'm pretty sure it's not my TV scripts. It's prim-count and density of avatars... and as people decorate, it's gonna get WORSE! Aiko Wu - you might want to consider another building for the top 3 stories before ppl really start decorating! (2) Some people just aren't interested in working things out. They would rather just suffer the outcome of their actions. Their autonomy must be respected. Out of respect for their choice, we owe it to them to enforce the rules with an even hand. I think that's been done admirably well in this case. (3) Ban scripts and bickering are not the way to fix things. There's a responsible way of doing things that works: identify the problem, identify your position, consider compromises, rational discourse, repeat. Only when that process breaks down should the Lindens be brought in. They're not here to settle our petty playground disputes for us! They're here to deal with it when the angry kid with the unibrow sits on the slide and won't let anyone else go down.

Yeah...I'm sooooo glad you finally agree! It takes a real man to admit he's wrong , but an even bigger man to admit that everyone hates him . I suggest you continue living in your air box with Daiko . No one can see you there . And please stop inviting the Homeys into your apartment. We don't like you . And by the way...

You have restarted what you had finished...
07-12-2003 00:24
CONGRATULATIONS, RYEN JADE!!!!
I thought this was over, finished; and for my part, it was. But it seems you will not let this go (see attached picture).
I laughed and laughed when I saw this (Lusk 190, 100). When I finished laughing, I was filled with...with inspiration.
Yes, what we Homies had all but forgotten YOU have once again made our purpose.
I can see the replies: "But this is what you said...", "Taste of your own medicine", "Turnabout is fair play", "WE'RE not breaking any rules", "It's my 'art'..", nya nya nya NYA!
Oh yes, I agree. Completely. Did you tell the other tenants you were going to do this, Ryen? Did you? Did you tell them you were starting up the conflict again? Stirring up the hornets nest? I assume not.
People of.....Rosewood? Have your laugh and have these obstructions removed immediately, or we will be seeing each other a lot more often.
You say, "Are you threatening us?". No, no. We are....responding.
Hasn't it been peaceful as of late? Why would you want this to begin again? Haven't you lost enough tenants?
I have since boarded up Ryen's doors. Have his "art" off my land before noon today.
Let's keep the Lindens out of this and sweep this under the rug, shall we?

Oh Ry Ry ... you do everything so "ill". Hey by the way, how's it going with that whole "everybody hates me" schtick? Collectively, the Homeys would like to express our textual gratitude. I mean c'mon ... self-deprecation IS sooooo much funnier when it fails, no? THanks for playing Ry Ry. Your lucky numbers: 8 ~ 7 ~ 3 ~ 2 ~ 3 ~ 8 ~

Wow! Just leave them alone! Really! Remember back in grade school when a group of little boys who all looked like potatos decided they didn't want to play kickball with the other kids? They wanted to stand at the corner of the playground instead, and flick everyone off when teacher wasn't looking. It's the fact that other little kids ran over to whine about it and get flicked off that the situation persisted. Just remember that while you're over in the corner of the playground listening to yourself talk, you're missing out on your recess just as much as they are
