me too- on..
health issues physical and mental keeping me out of the real world sometimes.
SL being a much needed escape where i can do what i can't in the real world.
on dramas here hurting me more than they should since i don't always have much of a first life. my friends have been so supportive and protective of me while i'm going thru a bad spell, overlooking my freakout attacks, which shame me greatly. sometimes i feel least equipped to deal with SL drama crap at the same times i most need my SL friends. again, i thank them for putting up with me and shielding me so i can still enjoy SL. i hope they all know i'll do my best (pitiful tho it sometimes it) to repay the favor if they ever need it..

Beautiful. I can relate.
But nothing average about it—anonymous, yes, average, heck no!

Wonderful thread! Made my eyes sparkle a lil! Anywayz, second life, beside all the issues and lag and stuff is a great place to meet and make some friends and no matter who you are, color, race, sex, everyone is really nice to you and respect you for who you are.. and that is what makes this game so great

What a beautiful post to which I add my own thanks to so many wonderful people who have helped me in the last year and a few to do things I cannot do in real life, being visually impaired, who take time to help me place things, help me go places like Neverland cause i get hopelessly lost, to shopping places that are dark to me(yes I force sun) and describe outfits to me and to those who helped me like Marilyn Murphy, Asri Falcone, Palomma, Mariposa, Alix, Sachi, Lolly, Chloe,Anastatia, Minky.... oh god so many who made my dream of modeling come true in my second life, even if i mentally memorize the runway. Some of the ones named helped tweak my avie(cause I cannot see the detail),and alot I have not named help me every day to be able to "see" a world I love so dear. To all of you store owners who answer my endless questions cause I cannot see the print on your items a big thank you, to all my friends who rescued my house endless times, to the people who build for me and for all i encounter, you make what is my reality so much brighter even on my days I am too terified to venture out in the real world.

From: Jim Lumiere How ironic, that it sometimes takes a virtual community to see reality. That was extremely well said. From: Jim Lumiere Now its time for my milk and cookies ... and maybe a nap. Hmmm, you sound like someone who has spend a considerable amount of time on Stratics.

Anonymous, Thank you for sharing. It is so refreshing to hear about something positive about SL. Very moving and definitely an eye opener. I will definitely keep your post in mind next time I feel like complaining or whining about something trivial about SL. Because the positive definitely outweighs the negative. MJ

The thing I always think about SL is how completely a person can do the things that they maybe can't irl.
I mean, people gripe about the proliferaton of sexual content in second life, but if someone can't for health or physical or emotional reasons have sex in their first lives, this does not mean that they are sexually dead. If this makes any sense LOL....
Awesome post and I'm glad someone made it cause I've been thinking about it as I meet more and more people that are living completely awesome Second Lives who have first lives with health problems etc.
