And Hosie, I've always thought your AV was delightfully "real". Yours is full figured, non-barbie and lovely.
Why thank you, David!

I agree with Colette. Her body's are always very finely done. I also hate that polygonal effect and the vast stretching of textures on the breasts when they get big, but that is the Lindens fault for not considering the average breast size of the average women when they designed the avatar in the first place. It's basically impossible to go over a B cup without getting large amounts of distorition IMO. That means at least half of all "normal" women get some form of distorted breasts in SL. . Had an experience the other night that relates to this. An aquaintence friend of a friend from another online game has recently migrated here. After getting her basic look, the next Day I noticed shed look like shed had a <bad> boob job. Basically so big they were no longer even round. She told me she had them dialed up to "Maximum flotation". So since she wanted to stay that size we messed around with it. Turns out you can get a teardrop type shape for the maximum sized breasts AROUND breast boyancy 60. Of course a woman that big naturally wouldnt hold up that well under gravity - but Its possible to go from looking like a "bad boob job" to looking like a "good boob job" Anyhow she seemed happy with the look - I suppose shes now a blessing to Bikini and wet Tshirt contests everywhere. |

Oh i'm so tired of seeing the cookie cutter blonde, tall, big chested, size 0 waste, dressed like a street walker av. When i see people dressed like this i tend to run the other way. I prefer to see people with more creative, natural or cute av's. I think a person's av speaks alot about a person. I don't get why so many women dress like this?? Do you wish you were more like this in your rl? I guess I am trying to understand why women dress like this?

Firstly, I have big boobs in rl - my only real asset, so I am sure as hell not going to be flat chested in SL, lol.
My av hasn't changed much since I first arrived (new skin, I think that is all). She is shortish with red hair. I am quite happy with her. She is no super-model, but she is friendly looking (I hope) and quite pretty (or so I am told). Besides, sometimes I am a little squirrel, or a big dragon, or a gryphon, or a hedgehog or....... |

I am fairly top heavy in rl, and well you can spot my ass in a crowd, but I have quite a small waist, alot of ppl say my AV reminds them of RL me, even friends I have shown snapshots to that don't play SL.
I just made what I thought looked pretty, I guess subconciously I WANT TO BE WILLOW!! ![]() I best get to the gym.... OH sod it Voluptuous is the new IN... honestly... _____________________

the blonde barbie type is kind of recent really. i remember being the only blonde i would see in days in sl. before prim hair was developed most girls were brunettes. or even red heads out numbered us blondes. back when events were social and fun i would go to them and be the only blonde in the crowd. my av has not changed her appearance, except for prim hair styles, since jan of 04. i resent people viewing her as following some tall modelesque trend. shes always been like this and i am not going to change her just because a lot of ladies may have adopted that style.

Hmmm, considering 60% of the female avies in SL are Males running the Avatars cause they like to look at nice bums.
What scares me though are those avies with butts like Serving trays...makes me feel uneasy as I keep looking for a picture of mead to go trapsing by, being balanced on their back side. Avatars that are realistically porportioned are fun to look at. Those that have a Pencil waist with a but the size of the golden gate bridge scare me...and dont get me started on those grotesque breasts that look like someone pasted a book shelf on someones chest. I have a few other comments but the one that sticks in my mind is if your chest looks like a crumbled up card board box stuck on with duct tape maybe you went a little too big. Also if your butt looks like you backed into a Helium baloon inflator maybe you maxed the slider just a wee bit to much. Anyway each his/her own I guess. Sincerely, Shadow Weaver..... P.S. lets not forget Hoochie Hair the SIM killer. _____________________

Just like in Rl physical attraction might play a role at the beginning of an encounter. But that fades pretty quickly once the personnalities are discovered and established. Again this depends what the person is seeking in SL.
AS for the barbie doll look or not I couldn't care less. It's what is behind the Avi that's important to me. My male avi has long hair because i used to have long hair and now miss so so baaaaaaaadly. Took me a few hours to find hair like that in SL which took me many decaded of frustation in RL ![]() I modeled my avi based on what I like and perhaps on what I'd like to be.... I must psycho analyse that later lol.... If people don't like it.... then move away... Yes I build a conan like dark tanned native like avi. I did it for myself and don't give a hoot if other don't like it. I'm not in a dating contest here. I look at the strenght (and not only physical) my Avi has and wish I could have that In RL to accomplish some dreams. I always had a shy personality, so for me to have a BIG Avi is somewhat refreshing. So ideal woman for me is not the avatar, it's the soul in it. If poeple are too shallow to only see the avi.. then i really don't want to know them. My english is not so good.. So i hope I express myself clear. Baamaapii Until later |

I call the look of Breasts extremely large with Zero Teardrop effect -combined with very very long legs, and crazy height - Body By matel. You make can the larger breast sizes look fairly natural , if you seperate them and make it look like they dont defy gravity. In the shapes I sell I have the whole range of figure sizes from quite petite to an intentionaly exagerated figure, so I experimented quite a bit. I dont think the total breast size number BY ITSELF is the only contribiuting factor to making breasts look like Glued on basketballs. Colette's bodies are awesome. ^_^ Before I found her shop, the idea of buying a body shape didn't make any sense to me... spending hundreds or even thousands of L$ on something that I could reasonably expect to produce on my own with a lot of slider tweaking. I mean, sure, you might know a lot of tricks that I don't know yet, but is the difference worth $800 or $1200 or whatever? But for a very reasonable price Colette offered a whole variety of body shapes, all created by someone who DOES know things I haven't learned yet, so that when I want to go from tall Amazon to petite I can just wear a different shape. THAT was something I could see spending a bit on. In some ways I suppose that I'm defeating the purpose of this thread -- I'm not being very unique, I just about always have one of Colette's shapes on now, and often one of the curvier ones -- but at least my av always has a more natural look. |

Just a side idea from reading the thread.
Girls = Good shopping but barbie look Guys = Poor shopping but tons of look Also Colette I agree it is nice seeing people offer shapes that are not outrageous. An old friend of mine paid I think 2,500 Lindens for my current shape which is no modify. I personally suck at making body shapes. Guess I just chalk it up to if it looks 'ok' who cares cause it isn't all about looks. _____________________

Well, I know that this might fall into the "trend of female avatars," but if I could make my avatar even taller I would. Of course, she's not busty or hippy, so maybe I just fall happily into the "freakishly tall heroine queen" moniker. It's not, however, because I want her to walk a runway. The two foot claws should probably dispel that thought.
I am not going for a realistic shape, nor am I trying to attract the opposite (or same) sex with my avatar. She is my intepretation of what Bill Sienkiewicz might do if he ever pencilled an Aeon Flux episode. I love the ability to exaggerate the human form, and I think there's a lot of artistic expression that can come from it. With that said, I do think women (or men as women) often fall victim to fashion magazine styling of their avatars, without stretching their imagination a bit further. I vote for more experimentation and more tools that allow us to expand those shapes to better match our imaginations. *edited to snuff out grammasites |

Nether, your AV is one of the most unique I have seen. She says, "come closer, but not too close."
Since the start of this thread, I have noticed that the AVs I notice, the AVs I remember, are absolutely unique--remarkable extensions of the incredible personalities behind the pixels (I know that this has been said, but I feel the need to repeat it). I imagine that, were you to line up the AVs of all of the voices in these forums--iconclasts, all of you, you would have created an astoundingly beautiful parade of imagination. _____________________

My avatar is a combination of what I look like irl, and what I wish I looked like in real life. Her eyes and lips are much bigger than mine are (good thing too, bc a person with eyes that big would be freaky looking). Both my avatar and I have a big nose, as well as very fair skin and black hair. We also share the same high cheekbones and small chin. My fav color is green, so that is her eye color. And I have always wanted curly hair (mine is long and straight), so my avatar usually has a curly hairstyle.
As far as body shape goes, I have a pretty big arse for a white girl, which has sometimes gotten me in trouble. I am large breasted irl, with a small waist, and yes I have the pics to prove it. ![]() The bane of my existence has always been my overly large feet... my feet don't really go with my short stature, so my avatar has small feet. I made my avatar the way I like her. It is MY Second Life. I didn't create her hoping that she would be attractive to others nor did I use a barbie doll as a model. I like the fact that everyone looks different, and while a lot of women do go for the Barbie body, they all have differences. Anyway, to sum this all up nicely: What's inside should matter more The human body is just a store. (replace human with avatar ![]() _____________________

Hehehe had a friend looking at a RL pic as I tweaked the sliders.
