Bel's solutions would be a reasonable compromise. But my ideal would be to have all of this explained, and options presented, during the client installation routine. Even with Bel's scheme, I still want an option in Preferences to turn the Abuse system off completely for myself (though I'll concede that default to on is needed for newbies).

My bottom line is that I don't ever want to see any sort of griefing alert, not ever. It simply interferes too much with the illusion of reality for my taste. And I would never use Mute or Abuse Report under any circumstance, not ever.

So, do what you must Cory, but please give us an off switch.

Bel,
Good points. It does have a threshold which I'll bump up for the next pile on and I think that changing the actual text is an excellent idea.

Regarding the various documentation comments: we are currently working on a revised set which should be much better as well as more accurate.

Thanks to everyone for helping us test this!

I love the new camera springs, very nice. The terrain is quite uber, as are the clouds, but I'm curious if the clouds change, or if it's static like the 1.0 ones?

Oooh. Better documentation. (Speaking as another technical writer.:))

Regarding the suggestion of a table of keyboard shortcuts, I'd recommend adding it as a selection from the Help menu. That'll be easier to find than the PDF manual.

IMHO the best feature in this game is the way the dev team listens to our needs. Thank you Cory (and all other Lindens of course).

Yeah, I agree with what Bel said. (Imagine that!)

However, the point about newbies easily missing text because they haven't figured out the chat history window can be easily resolved by adding a button to the left of the text entry field.

Also, we SHOULD have an IM hotkey. The current mix of buttons and keyboard commands is good, but we need full representation on both sides. :)

Yeah, the clouds looked kick-ass great. I flew upward and watched the sky long enough to see considerable movement; randomized I presume, and very life-like. ( sure hope that wasn't a bug ;) )

RE: springy camera. I found the effect a bit annoying at the default setting. I'm looking forward to playing around with it more in future tests.

I loved 1.1... the particle effects were great! I have a few ideas for those =)
I hope I get back in time for the next test/release.
