According to that, everything the average American needs. * Chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added. (fat) * Salt (for binding, flavour, and firmness) * Water (to help in mixing) * Sugar (for flavour) * Sodium Nitrite (for colour and as a preservative; cancer agent) _____________________

I wonder which is worse.. hot dogs or spam? spam at least tries to taste like ham. hot dogs don't really taste like anything - they have their own flavor, "hot dog".

Judging by the sheer amount of quickie threads you've made in the past few days, I'd say spam is made by StoneSelf Karuna

I think I'm happier not knowing the exact details....
I'm reminded of the Monty Python 'Spam' sketch-- I read somewhere that they were worried at first, because they hadn't gotten permission from the company to use the 'Spam' brand name. The Spam people were thrilled, though, and offered to send the Pythons a crate of the stuff. The response to this offer was something like, 'Um, thanks, but no, that's okay...' ![]() Spam Spam, wonderful Spaaaammmm.... _____________________

Ode to SPAM(tm)
author unknown Oh SPAM(tm)! Oh SPAM(tm)! Gourmet delight! My food by day, my dreams by night. To carve, to slice, to dice you up - pureed in a blender and sipped from a cup. What shining deity from Olympus knelt down to the earth and hog butt smelt? Creating then man's eternal desire for swine entrails congealed by fire. On some corporate farm, a pig has died. Eyes, tongue, and snout end up inside that cube of SPAM(tm) hidden in the can I now hold in my trembling hand. More than mere food, SPAM(tm) is for me a hedonistic expression of gluttonous glee. Mottled with pork fat, the pink cube engrosses. My mouth takes it in, my intestine disposes. Long have my arteries clogged to the sound of sizzling SPAM(tm) when there's no one around - furtively chewing or swallowing whole. Triple bypass by forty, my medical goal. Other processed meat products I've tried or declined Vienna Sausages, Treet, even pig's feet in brine. Though each may be tasty in different ways, none matches SPAM(tm) for gelatinous glaze. That glistening pinkness beckons me with gristle, fat, and BHT. Oh SPAM(tm), my SPAM(tm) - the taste, the smell! The sacred meat product, from Hormel. _____________________

ewww! By "fetal meatloaf", I meant a yet-to-be-born meatloaf who wasn't fully developed- something you'd find in the biolab nest to the fetal calves and pigs. I didn't mean meatloaf made from fetuses ![]() _____________________

not the email spam, but that pink stuff in a can. In great vast plains of Northern Minnesota roam herds of Naga beasts. The animals are harvested for thier pelts and turned into Nagahyde. That rare leather found on recliners through out the world. The norwegian lutherans who live in northern Minnesota are a thirfty if not a cheap lot who had the problem of what to do with the great piles of rotting meat from this noble beast. When Sven Larsen hit upon the idea of packaging up the meat and selling it to the world. What to call this new product. If they called Naga in a can the consumer would look at thier recliner and only think of a Uncle Vinny planting his smelling can in the chair smoking stinking cigars. Not a very appealing visual when thinking about food. When a old tradditonal norweigan slang word hit up them "SPAM" It means rotting meat from the fields. Instant sucesss and spam is sold through out the world. Sadly over hunting and low birth years (the naga is not a very romantic animal) has slashed the numbers almost to none. In the past few years advanced artifical spam has been used to replace the Naga beast. This made up of a secret blend of road kill. |

My first association w/ Naga is the semi-divine serpent-angel of Indian (the subcontinent) mythology, in wich case you are suggesting that Spam is the flesh of slain angels ![]() Killed by your uncle Vinny ![]() This thread makes Vudu sad ![]() _____________________
