Have any of you experienced this also?? of so.. what kind of clues were U left with (if any)?... I'd hate to think anyone from my "Group" would have done this since I am friends with the few that are in it... Also the house next to mine has dissapeared and the land has gone public!! Could This have don it?? I just dono!!! Thru the advice of two of the Lindens.. i am asking all of you folks to let me know if you have experienced anything like this.. If so.. please leave a reply of what happened to you or leave a reply if U have any ideas what might have happened.... I am uploading a picture of what my house looked like before & after.. Thanks for your help & time!!

Check your calling card list for users with (*) an astrick symbol prior to their name. You may have granted someone outside your group the ability to modify your objects.

Sometimes it is easy to move things into the ground or over the existing structure, you might try checking your area, and looking in your trash for the missing parts.

If the house was linked together part of it could have moved to 0,0,0. It happens alot to me, just move far enough away so you can no longer see your home and then come back, it should return to its proper location. Repeat as necessary.

Max and others:

We may have a bug here where your objects are actually there but you can't see them.

Could everyone check if this is the case for them by trying to walk your AV through an area where you think objects should be and seeing if it collides with anything. If the objects are still there (you can bump into them or land onthem, etc), you are OK.

Please post and let me know who is seeing objects that are REALLY gone versus objects that are there but invisible.

This is a serious bug - we will find and fix.

Upon furthur investigation. the bottom floor of my tower was gone. Though I am thinking that I could have had something to do with the house behind me being removed. I can only assume it was from inactivity. And that when the house was removed my floor went by mistake.

In short. It was gone. Don't know if it was a bug though.

It would help me a lot if you could give specific locations -- Sim Name (x,y) -- so that I can go back into logs and see what happened.

Thanks!

One wall of my cube in Immaculate was deleted about a week and a half ago. That's four 10x10x0.01 cubes, two of which were on top of the other two. It's the build at Immaculate 65,100, and it's the wall closest to the shore. (The wall currently there is a replacement that I put in a day or so later.)

I didn't report it because there was a chance they were on top of public land, but I'm almost certain I checked to make sure that they didn't say they were decaying before I left after building them for the first time. Not really sure what happened.

0.0 This is a HUGE problem. I thought it was just happening in our new sim but i guess not. We were all at Sage just standing there making modles to our new anime city when *POOF* everything one by one around us disappeared. At first we thought it was someone deleting it all but nobody could have done it that fast and we have a lot of trust in eachother. Then we noticed we didn't get anymoney back. Nothing is invisible then happened a while back and nothing has returned. There were even a few things that stayed but didn't show up on the map. It was very strange 0.0 some had lost thousands to this.

Hikaru,
Can you be more specific about what and when? Also, anyone else seeing this behavior?

Thanks!

Someone may want to talk to the guys in Jessie. They've decided they are under attack by Vandals who are tearing down their buildings. I have taken a LOT of rounds as a primary suspect (not sure why). Perhaps their problems is that chunks are simply disappearing? They imply that it has happened more than once. Maybe its a good candidate for monitoring?

Might be good to ask Syank to show you exactly what's missing. I sure aint going in there to ask ;-)

I don't remember exactly when it was. It was a few days ago right after we got Sage. And all of our modles were still on public land. We were just standing there on a platform working on stuff. Then the platform disappears from right underneath us and we fall to the ground. then we look around and a few things are still there. Then right before our eyes we watched and almost every single object disappears. Only a few little objects were left, i'm not sure why. None were on owned land.

I've never had any objects actually gone, but what you're describing above happens to me almost every time I log in/teleport. Various bits of my house will not appear there, but upon attempting to walk through them/etc they are still there. Usually fixed if I:

A) Leave the area and fly back in.
B) Re-log in until all of them appear
C) Sometimes going into mouselook and running full speed into the missing object will make it fade into existence

I have yet to find an object that was *truly* gone, but i've had objects which were there but I could not see for several hours before.

The sim involved being Taber, my house is "right near the beach", i don't know co-ords i'm afraid.

Sassy Apple's fireplace in her place at Hawthorne was missing yesterday, sans one piece of the log rack. We repeatedly walked around where it was, no invisible objects were run into.

Her house is a big stone building with a peaked roof in the center of the N side of Hawthorne...

She had the fireplace put back in, but she didn't get any money back from the first one.

Also, I visited Max last night when he saw his building half gone, although I did not try flying into it to see if it was simply invisible. His place is in Clara, and he said someone elses place was also gone, though maybe from inactive purge.

I also believe Skeedalee Skidoo lost part of her garden in Tehama.

Damn, I forgot to check my place in Lusk, will have to do so today...

Folks, thanks for the input. It would help me a lot if you described missing pieces specifically by Sim (x,y) location so that I can go in world, as well as poke around our various log files. I've already found a few spots where objects that vanished were over public land and decayed to public (and I've IM-ed the owners accordingly).

Thanks!

One day a couple weeks ago I was bored. I decided to fly around and see if I could find some of this easy money from deleted accounts. I looked at a lot of structures before I found one that said Public. With a smile and a "yippie", I selected it and hit delete....Ka-Ching! Wow, this is pretty cool.

So I had deleted one wall. I put my mouse on the next section and hit delete, this IS fun. Again I put my mouse on another section and hit delete, nothing happened. I hit delete again, still nothing. So, I clicked on the section of wall and looked......OMG, it had a name on it !! I had deleted two walls to someones home. I wrote their name down so I could at least give them back their money, but I lost the paper. However, that is not my point.

Everyone needs to look at your buildings and make sure NOTHING has "Public" on it. Like I did, it could be deleted before the deleter notices it's NOT public.

I am sorry for the two walls I deleted.....

I live in Clara, don't have the exact coords. but I've already filed a bug report.

Also my roommate lost most of hi plants and panters from the top of his roof and the balcony disappeared. I personally don't care about the money. Those chairs were irreplacable.

I've been away for a couple of days, but I logged in tonight and found a picture missing (or didn't find it! lol)

The co-ords are Boardman 196,232. It's a bit hard to tell if it's not there or invisible - it was on a wall, and I'd have to move the house to try and walk through it.

I've had the other bug (where objects are invisible) quite a lot, but I find that they usually load after a few minutes. This one hasn't so far.

Yes this is a HUGE problem. I have had items disappear on me now for a few weeks. Its very aggravating and costly (not getting refund credit on missing items). Its so upsetting to log on to find that half of my housing is missing. I have check and double-checked, thinking it was something I did wrong (leaving on move/modify/copy, giving someone modify permissions, checked lost and found, making sure none of my objects touched public land, etc ), so to make sure, I locked everything down in place.

On Saturday, I signed on to find my table and a picture missing. Got upset for a second, replaced my table and went on my lil merry way. Signed off SL for a few hours, came back and guess what?? My table was missing again!!! TWICE in one day. No way, I thought to myself, Its gotta be here. Had my Avatar walk into the center of where my table should be. Didn’t know what to do so I just stood there for a second, dumb founded, did a tantrum gesture and called a Linden to cry on. :)

Many of my friends/neighbors are having the same thing happen to them. Lets hope that this bug will soon be resolved.

Cory, Please come poke around all ya like hun. 200,77 Da Boom

Would like to thank Jeff, Haney, and Philip Linden for visiting and trying to help get this resolved, and also for letting me cry on their shoulders. You guys are great!!

This may be a sillly question, but you do own the land this stuff is one right?

b/c if someone else did they can delete it or if its public it can decay, i'm sure you probably own it,but i thought i'd ask anyways.

Not sure about the others that replied. But I do own my own land that the objects have disappeared from.
