:p Just very interested in this...
If you think you have a personal, original style here in SL, how would you describe it? If you want to go beyond bashful you can even include how it differs from you RL style :-)

I guess it's just interesting how our RL style differs from SL's, being that SL gives us so much versatility.....
In that sense it opens up a new door, through which we can express ___(fill in the blank?)___ < -- That's what I'm trying to figure out!

Lingerie Freak...
07-11-2005 09:20
That's me. I love sexy underthings and when my AV wears more my sl love thinks I am up to something (lol).

Anyway I love lingerie so much that it drove me to finally make my own line of fashions - most of which are .... u guessed it ..... Lingerie.

I'll be the first and foremost to say that I can NEVER in a Million years pull off my avatar's look!

In RL I tend towards the more, loose fitting, relaxed clothing. In SL, I go with what I really wish I had the bod to pull off, in my more Goth moods.

Actually when I started *PREEN* most of the clothing I made back then were things out of my RL wardrobe from my days of clubbing. Since I don't really go clubbing much anymore my style had calmed down a LOT, but you still see hints of my inner party girl.

On the spectrum of style my look is on the happy side of goth and on the relaxed side of raver. I'm keen on stripey stockings, and fun poofy skirts. I like my footware to be big and stompy and my tops to be playful and fun. Between cute and sexy, I lean towards cute (if you want sexy Aimee you have to earn it!)

Great thread!

Phobos ("fright";) is the Greek personification of fear and terror. He is usually considered to be a son of Ares, and accompanying him in battle, instilling fear in all he saw.

That for the most part sums up our clothing style, but I shall ellaborate.

Our clothes have been based on what might seem to be paranoid drug induced hallucinations. Several items of original creation never seen in the real world, and several adaptations of real world apparel with our flair tossed into it.

Can't really call it goth, can't call it cyber-punk, definitely not mainstream. All that can be said is....

We make naughty clothes for naughty people.

I guess if you just took a cursory look at my store you'd say I was preppy. I'm not entirely preppy though.

I'm influenced by any number of things, including but not limited to: filmsy 1940's dresses, late 1970's New York, early 1990's Venice Beach, grunge, late 70's/early 80's punk, Penelope Cruz, the 1997 Adrian Lyne film Lolita, and various pieces of men's clothing including sweaters and t-shirts.

My style is kinda all over the place, from 1940's classy, 60's mod, 80's punk, 90's indie to casual coastal. I like to mix things up a bit and try juxtapositions I'd never considered before. I also sometimes wear things I consider "ugly" just to stretch my acceptance a bit and try to make it my own.

In RL I wear slacks or khakis with button-down shirts or something else equally clean and business-like, so that I may better assume the role of the young professional I aspire to.

In SL, I'm a bit cyberpunk. Because, truly? I want computers under my skin in RL. :)

I'm a furry with a bunch of diffrent shades of green in my hair (light to dark from back). I made my height much taller than most other furries... and wear a Full Metal Alchemist military uniform I made. And I love it :)

What Ferran said!!

My personal style is more classic. I love dark colors: black, black, garnet, black, navy, black, forest green, and black in all the traditional fabrics: velvet, latex, leather, fur, leather, silk, leather. Clean elegant lines.

No fru-fru, pastels, or floral patterns (unless venus fly traps are flowers) need apply.

Classic cloth diaper. :D

Classics never go out of style, for sure. Just make sure the diaper service comes to clean them and leave u fresh ones.

Hugs!

I'm very particular about my SL clothes... I have my own style that I like to call 'Neo-Dork'...

Not just any old torn jeans and t shirt will do.... its one of those 'states of being' things.. if you have to ask 'have I hit Neo Dork' chances are, you haven't.

Siggy.

but I still don't get it, are we trying to bring out our inner child :p or Bozo the clown or what? :D

I like to take wild and/or funky textures and turn them into clothes for me. I'd say my style is sort of go-go and 70s with a little bit of I don't know mixed in. hehe.. I don't dress nearly as colorfully in RL. :D

Here are a couple of pictures that give a good idea of my style:
