Been almost 6 months since I had a poetry contest inWolrd, so to get back into it, let's post our conversations with the Muse here.

The Call

Night sounds drift through the window
Distant echos,
Dawn still hours away
Voices of long forgotten memories return to taunt.

Suddenly ringing bells,
Her voice fresh,
We resume our strained incantations,
And my skin crawls as she shares her
Menus of misery.

(rough) translation:

tall white clouds
bring cold rain.
Summer departs,
fall arrives.

Here's some quickies:


Should the darkness collapse softly,
With shivering, silken sighs,
And brightest tooth,
And bloodless lips,
Yet beautiful do kiss..
Then embrace dread's final ecstacy,
My cold death angel's gift.

Sleeping through eternal night,
Sprawled upon a bed of black thorns,
In a room of concrete and crystal,
She dreams dark dreams..
And smiles, as if touched by a lover.

In her lover's gaze,
She is like porcelian and midnight,
And her long, tangled hair,
Is a dark summer wind.

Withdrawn from the ready heat of bed,
She sits watch dreams
through frosted glass,
The perfect picture moving.

But regret is her passing fancy,
And so..
From eyes alive with passion's flame,
She weeps sharp tears,
That cut like razors.

The Age of Aquarius

ain't comin' 'round fas'nuf fer me

can't seem to see the pollution

fer all the g'damn trees!

when it rains the elephants eat my crops

the tigers tear flesh off of bone

the little amoebas swim in my gut

sho' is good to be home!


yeah I know no one reads my posts, but fuck it, I do...

arranged on the bathroom floor:
infinite picture.

I like the haiku's only each one I read makes me think that surely someone has written it before.....

Her Dream

As she told me her bizarre tangled dream
And her refusal to accept the circumstances
She woke.
Her fears laid bare
Her family and Brad Pitt there
In the multi-roomed divided house
Reflecting mirrors and muted light.
Dancing and fishing in the living room pool,
People singing, laughing, crying, some sighing.
She watched from her window a tangled web of confused pain,
Loving them all - Bobby, Dottie, Spike, Karen, the kid.
Alone in her awareness,
She felt our comings and goings, listened to our stories, wiped our tears
And loved us from her depths.

why must the candle burn itself
to illuminate the room?
Feel its hot wax dripping,
drop by drop ...
till there is a candle no more

You know I really wished the thread I started last April when I was crashing a lot, using poetry and all the subsequent replies were also in poetry was still on the forum, but I can't find it now, so it must have been lost in the forum backup / transfer problems we've had from time to time. Shame really, it went on for pages from what I remember.

We Two Stars

We two stars burn so intense
with pretence or fuss
and what would we say if somewhere far away
someone made a wish upon us?

for the darker the night the brighter the light
that shines for every face
so get up and stay in that vast milky way
and add your light to the space!!

I take your hand
Lead you to the shadows
You take my hand
Walking to the gallows
There's no starlight
There's no moonbeams
The symbols of the night
Are never what they seem
A chill claws up my spine
Frozen to the core
Your face burns into mind
Memories of before
The rope tightens
It's almost over
Your eyes widen
You run for cover
I take your hand
Wake eternal sunlight
You take my hand
Will it ever feel right.

To shutter the insomnia
of foul uselessness
With that ethereal lullaby
cradled in the sweet sod
Of Mother Earth's embrace

or

Without choice
my voice
Lay idle miles
from lips
Whispering to
eclipse
The darkness
invading
Thought forever
caught
Twixt tragedy and
silence
Subtle violence
of a
slowly
fading
soul.

"The Dandylion star "

Amongst the speckled field of black
I saw the dandylion star
it winked at me and I winked back
and sent that wish up far,
the other stars looked more like gems
like diamonds stuck in tar,
but I liked the mellow
glow of the yellow
wonderful dandylion star.

like crystal fish the others sit
cold like a platinum bar,
but how can you miss
when you make a wish
upon the dandylion star?

Abnormal

All tangled up inside
Find it hard to relate
Systems in overdrive
Sanity up for debate
Suicide on the mind
Can't fight the feeling
Everday the mental grind
Sends the brain spiraling
No room for sanctuary
From this lucid dream
A morbid commisary
Nothing is what it seems.

Lord won't you buy me a dime bag of weed
My heart is racing for your herbal relief
Jangled nerves like christmas tree lights
Sometimes the only out is not to fight.

"Dream Animals "

the dream cats inside my head
hunt out the rodents of stress
the mutant pigs of creative thought
frolic in a zenfull caress
my desires are flickering
like a warm candle flame
as love runs in for a hug
and God's white elephant trumpets my name
as i wake to reality above

I love Daz!!! Great stuff there sweetie...keep 'em coming and maybe someday I'll find that well your draining in the sphere of creative urge and impitus

a bit of topic and a slight derail which I'll aplogize for in advance...but has anyone else ever played the poetry trade off. It is where you write a peice and then someone else interprets it and uses the interpretation to create a new peice-o-fluffy and razor edged poem of their own. In the end you are left with some really awesome community peices and alot of new perspectives.

Sand 'tween my toes and minimal clothes

make for fun in the sun yeah you know it!

but the seashore at night is a sensual sight

as the moonbeams sow love seeds for poets!

"Will It Fly?"

Ideas are the lab rats and frogs
you disect to get to the truth
throw them to find out if they will fly
or splatter all over your shoes,
perhaps they will soar way outta sight
shooting starsfar outalright!...
are you an idea sent up to fly
a lab rat with purpose before you must die?

Authors and Actors and Artists and such
Never know nothing and never know much
Sculptors and Singers and those of their kidney
Tell their affairs from Seattle to Sydney
Playwrites and Poets and such horse's necks
Start off from anywhere and end up at sex
Diarists, critics and similar roe
Never say nothing, and never say no
People Who Do Things exceed my endurance;
God for a man that solicits insurance.

wish I were remotely turned on by the ilk of the run of the mill but give me a poet straining for a peice of moonbeam or suckling the honeyed breast of the muse any day. I am destined for poverty but never for commonplace.

Actresses on matresses with club-picked books
park their asses on glasses (to be like Cat-Girl looks)
and the painters with passion still squawk if you spill
the chamomille on flamable spirits or pills
the poets are darkly not writting these days
when the Chobits and hobbits can be bought with a raise
the bloggists arent doing the hobbys they were
back before the world ignored them not
but I still love them and fuck them and have to say
you're female and crazy no matter what!!

Okay I'll play

Actors all factor their pay into lines, rocks and snorts
While flimsy haired fluzies will meet them at court
With pills a' poppin' and paints to splatter and pour
Artists duplicate life printed and numbered for stores
The web makers spin in colors popping with skin
Larger penises or more hair to aid in men's sin
The sculptors are dead 'cept for boobs on a lamp
(Or figures of maidens with pubics perpetually damp)
Pens and notebooks where great writers once hacked
Become ledgers to work numbers for his wifes new rack
The children are drugging, the dogs in full hump
We wonder with technology why art is in a slump.
