So, with immersion ruined, who's leaving Second Life?

I hereby declare myself right and a visionary for having predicted the need and value of an in-client browser.

I'm staying! I for one have always supported having this feature in SL. I'm very excited about seeing what others do with this ability! :D

You're still around? Geez. heh.

I come back to this: SL is entertainment. If it gets under your skin that much, leave. If you get sincere pleasure out of being made this miserable by something that should be fun and entertaining, seriously consider therapy.

Regards,

I take my entertainment very, very seriously. And I am easily amused by serious things.

I know a lot of people will say "NOOO!" to this, but I always wanted to be able to set a picture URL as a texture face on a prim.

Pros: Less SL asset database bloat
Cons: Obviously, the chance of linking to things that are noted as being "Please don't remote-link"

Oooh, in-world Wiki.

Wait.... I use an out-of-world editor to write my LSL.

*sighs*

I'm sure the web-based SL sites will find this useful, but...for myself this is the third release in a row that I can only categorize as more features that cater to the 'oooh pretty!' group than to those looking for core capability additions (read: persistent storage, *stability*, etc).

More stuff and less fluff, please.

I think you'll be able to turn this feature off on the client.

Think an unpilgrimage is actually and EXODUS

Tho I have an image in my mind of a bunch of people carrying signs of Pilgrims with red circles and slashes thru them.

So all this time everyone but me has been totally immersed while i sometimes minimize the window and use Netscape. Wow I didnt know I was such an eccentric.

Some people I know even had other computers and looked at other websites -- they were LYING - they were really totally immersed.

darn it ..

And now its too late ..

I dunno. greater interoperability with the rest of the 'net DOES, ultimately, make SL more capable in the long run.

And while I run SL in a window and keep a seperate firefox instance up for wikifying... well, there's cases where I'd find this useful.
