OK...I have been on line a little while now.. but am still very confused to exactly how the bonus structure works.... I have "upped" my weekly amout by an extra 58L$ per week (wow! lol) if i start rating more people...will it go up? or is it only on what others rate you? Do negative ratings lower your bonus? (given and gotten) By how much? Also as a side question..lol...does anyone know any good "hangouts" where you can get ratings? Just curious, cause my first day in SL I got quite a few.. but the clubs where i go to now dont seem to put any emphasis on it just curious really. But how they work in the first place... i really dont understand...it doesnt seem to be explained anywhere on the main site (from what i can see anyway.

ok...so let me get this right....
"+ Within 6 weeks, removing completely the remaining incentive amounts paid out in these 'Stipend Ratings'. This means that ratings will no longer have any effect on L$ paid to residents"
This means that soon, EVERYONE will be back to mothly allowances only? ie..all basic members will be on 50L$ a week?
OK...this will not affect me much...but i can imagine that many residents have quite large bonuses.

Basically Linden Labs wants more people to buy paid accounts otherwise this wouldn't be an issue. "Squeeze the basic accounts! SQUEEEZE!" =D

SQUEEEZE!" =D Alternatively, thrifty people who can't scrounge up the cash can perhaps find new ways of making money like a hypercapitalist MacGyver. It's amazing what I've seen some really resourceful people low on the Ellz do. That'll benefit the community too.

SQUEEEZE!" =D Actually, I'm fairly certain what they'd like to happen is: basic accounts buy more L$ from IGE, GOM or thier own service when it comes into being. Also, they want to avoid having too much L$ in-world to avoid inflation. Mind, things don't work in SL precicely as in RL, so don't look for the usual signs of inflation just now, most of us resist raising prices and we can manage to resist a long long itme in SL. (Please don't laugh at me if it's in some popular movie/tv show. I don't watch many of those things)

Uhh... I still don't get it.
Basically, it said, "I'm MacGyver. That's a nickname. It's hard to describe who I am. I am defined by the places I have visited."

I love that you asked, Keknehv, and I love that Jillian and Cid replied. So fitting, in a lateral way! I'm so happy today. (I'm not up on all my popculture references so I have maaany questions.) Here's one more link for the trifecta: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macgyver MacGyver's main asset is his practical application of scientific knowledge and inventive use of common items – along with his ever-present Swiss Army knife and duct tape and the usual coincidence of being locked up in a room full of special chemicals. This allows him to create a variety of unorthodox solutions, usually to escape capture, avert disaster, or defeat the antagonists. The use of mundane items to build jury-rigged devices shows an influence from The A-Team (though MacGyver eschewed the use of firearms) and has entered U.S. popular culture and are referred to as "MacGyverisms".

Hes also really handy to have around if you need to save a truckload of kittens and all you have is a rubber band and some elmers glue. Also great to know if you hav a new low emission solid plastic solor powered race car that needs to be driven along side dangerous cliff faces!

Basically, it said, "I'm MacGyver. That's a nickname. It's hard to describe who I am. I am defined by the places I have visited." The premise of MacGuyver (keep in mind this was back in the 80s) was that Macguyver was a really cool guy who would travel the world helping/saving people cause he worked for this foundation, and he never carried a gun. He could make just about anything out of stuff he found like gum wrappers and duct tape and his trade mark swiss army knife. It was an awesome show it still comes on TVLand and Spike TV in the afternoons.

I'm all for more SL MacGuyvers... Some d00d comes new, freshfaced into SL, raids the freebie shoppes and money trees, selfteaches himself prim-fu and the sacred art of greef evasion by way of sitting on a plywood cube. Day by day, the chi of this d00d becomes more and more unblocked, he works in the sandboxes until the is a YUGE explosion and he has made a really kewl pack of freebies of his own, which he then gives out, continuing the good vibes. He gets posrated for some of them, not that it's all that matters, but he smiles, spinning out more knowledge and the divine truth of mathematics to his fellow Residents of Second Life.
That sort of enthusiasm and energy here really makes a difference. Mark! Don't "hangout" to get ratings. Just be a cool d00d and they will come. From: Mark Matador OK...I have been on line a little while now.. but am still very confused to exactly how the bonus structure works.... GOOD THAT YOU ASKED D00D From: someone I have "upped" my weekly amout by an extra 58L$ per week (wow! lol) if i start rating more people...will it go up? or is it only on what others rate you? ONLY rates received counts, and this is comparatively shortterm given the coming changes. From: someone Do negative ratings lower your bonus? (given and gotten) By how much?
YES they do, like if you get 7 pos and 3 neg in a week, that counts for 4 pos. You can't get into the minus levels tho. Weather the confusion, relax... keep takin' it easy. Hang out wherever tons of green dots and in smaller groups too, chat people up, make lots of friends in lots of places, be nice, ask for help and then use that wisdom to teach others (generational wisdom is da shiznit). Helping others goes a long way, that will get you rates but goes beyond those mere numbers. Learn to build if you want, make cool things, customize your av too so you really stand out. Think of your childhood dreams, your greatest fantasies! Speakin' of badass mathematics y0 here's the current formula, to be outdated soon: /16/fc/38681/1.html It's simple on paper, can be hard to actually do but if you close your eyes and tune yourself in... you'll really get it. best of hope!

Well I still think that Linden Labs is wanting some more people to upgrade =P
Without stipend bonuses, basic accounts like mine are really going to suffer financially. (Linden-dollars-speaking, I mean)

Do refferals still count towards the weekly bonus? I don't think I've ever reffered anyone, but I'm curious about how it effects my stipend
