From: Eboni Khan I was in NHS, have been in Mensa since long before HS, and umm they are nothing like corporate America.
This is completely mild, at most it is un PC, it is not racism, not even passive racism. Racism is low on my list of concers, I am more concerned about sexism. *shrug* Everyone can pick their own battles. I'm with Eboni on this one. If I were called "black girl" I would be very offended and hurt. That's because I'm a boy. But I don't see any reason that a black girl should be offended by being called a "black girl". What they heck are they supposed to be called?? What if someone asks you who Eboni is? what are you going to say? "Oh She is that non descript person over there in the croud of other non descript people" ??? No you say She is the black hucci sales woman over their", or even "the black girl selling Hucci products". You might know her name, but still you would have to describe her to someone who doesn't know who she is. I laughed my @55 off when I read that story because it's hillarious that they totally disregaurded the girls identity like she didn't even matter. I think that is soooo insulting and embaracing. And they are pointing out their error by having every student in the school rip out pages in their year book and GLUE in new ones. OMG, I'm currently laughing myself to tears! OMG, I'll need a moment... I'd hate to be her right now. But there is no recism. It's just Ironic that it happened in Texas, the cowboy state. LOL ROFLMAO! Poor girl.. I feel bad for her, I do.

From: Kathmandu Gilman What is a shame is the fact the news media used this mistake (which happens quite often) to play up a supposed racial incedent in a small Texas town to sell a story. What is even sadder are the countless people who fall for this sort of manipulation. Had it been "white guy" no one would have cared. There is no story here but the reporter got one anyway and got a paycheck for his/her trouble.
Hey there!! As a salesman I have to say, don't blame the reporter for writing a story which he know would sell and advance his career. Blame the people who got so excited over the story and help spread it, and helped make the reporter more famous. Blame me cause I thought this sensational news was hillarious. Blame all of us, then go punch a mirror.

In my experience in my 41 years, salesmen tend not to be paragons of virture and my one current and two former inlaws who are salesmen have served time in prison so the idea that you find nothing wrong with exploiting a story is of no great surprise, anything for a buck eh? Why should I "punch a mirror" for pointing out you (as in anyone reading that story) are being suckered?

If you can't prove them wrong you can always call them names I guess huh? Everything in this world requires salesmanship, whether you are selling vacuum cleaners or applying for a job you are a sales person. Over looking your ignorance I'll simply point out that what you just wrote has no bearing on this discussion as all you did was unjustly attack my character. You still did not disproving what I said. I'm sorry about your family's criminal background but I come from a very upstanding breed and I am an upstanding citizen so your assumption of my judgment being no good due to my occupation is simply wrong and misguided.
