This may be a stupid question, but how can I tell how many prims an object has?

Right-click and choose Edit.

In the first tab, it should say how many prims there are.

Right-click the object to edit it. The General tab will tell you how many objects you have selected and how many prims total are in the selected objects.

The real question now is who will win... The pig? Or the possum?
