Recently a new member asked where is the cool stuff in SL to be found. That got me thinking (wait...don't stop reading this one is ok...I think ,) magazines have periodic "Best of" issues and so should we. Yes, I know this has been done before, but there are so many new members and new builds that an update is always a good thing! So let's put our heads together to come up with our personal favorites for the "Best of Second Life." Caveat: This is not a intended to be popularity list, or a list of friends.. I really want us to share our favorites and let others know whats great about SL & where to find it! Our world is so large now that its easy to overlook some great spot...so tell everyone about it! Here are my choices (in no particular order Best club: Club Bad Girls in Smoky Best DJ : Envy Millions Best clothing store for men: L&F and Gecko in Koss Best general clothing store for women: Nomine in Munchie land Best "natural" build" : Cave Rua water gardens Best "urban" build: Island sim Devils Moon Best place for animations: Abranimations (no surprise there ) Best fun toys: Abranimations & Acne Best hair: Lil Ones Best shoes: Hearts Desire Best skins: Munchie again aka Nomine Best tringo: dunno dont play Best place for freebies: Yadnis Junkyard Best tattoos: Joeys Tattoos I know there are many other great places that will occur to me! What are your favorite Best of Sl spots?

*hugs* Katy! From: katykiwi Moonflower Best club: Club Bad Girls in Smoky They've worked hard to be #1 on the list. However, if you're as adverse as I am to lag and fast-scrolling chat (most of which seems to be "^^HOWL^^" or " w00t" , I highly recommend the Elbow Room as well as La Vie en Rose. When Trader's DJing at LVER, it's about as much of a "home" feeling as I've had in SL. From: someone Best DJ : Envy Millions They aren't DJing now, or the last I knew, but I loved Geddy McGettigan and Ravenmist. Dom Bauer is also very good. From: someone Best clothing store for men: L&F and Gecko in Koss And don't forget Elaine's Manhunter Mall. From: someone Best general clothing store for women: Nomine in Munchie land I love Munch's stuff. I also love Nevermore, Torrid Midnight, Aimee's "Preen" store and Pixel Dolls among others. From: someone Best "natural" build" : Cave Rua water gardens And Parrot island! From: someone Best "urban" build: Island sim Devils Moon And Midnight city! And Amsterdam! From: someone Best place for animations: Abranimations (no surprise there ) You may be biased about that but you're also not wrong I would add Cristiano Midnight, Bob's, Mr. P's and Sexy Jesse's. From: someone Best fun toys: Abranimations & Acne Which kind of toys? Don't overlook Strokerz and KDC. From: someone Best hair: Lil Ones Got most of hers, but I also own about everything ever made by Lost and Torrid. Very high honorable mention: Tami McCoy and Lash. From: someone Best shoes: Hearts Desire Gosh. I don't think I've bought new dress shoes since I got my 140-color Home Fashionz set. Anything that lets you change color with a chat command has my vote. I also own 2 sets of Aimee's Doc Webers, which let you change texture at a touch. They rarely are off my feet if I'm going casual. From: someone Best skins: Munchie again aka Nomine I have a long list of skins one should NOT buy, but Munchie's on my "must buy" list. My last 2 skins were Munch. Lumiere is great as well (Nevermore again). From: someone Best tringo: dunno dont play Same here. From: someone Best place for freebies: Yadnis Junkyard Without question. Also, look up "The Shelter". From: someone Best tattoos: Joeys Tattoos I don't do tattoos. It's needlephobia

Best club: Lestat's Dark Erotica Best DJ : Melody Parks Best clothing store for men: Well for suits it is Grimm and Muse hands down. For other things Swell, or Jonquille Noir's place Best general clothing store for women: Dunno. Soon it will be Harajuku Bebop, but I am biased. Best "natural" build" : The new continent before it was settled, now the Japanese sims in Anshe land. Best "urban" build: The urbans sims, Devils moon is good, so is midnight city Best place for animations: Reverie Best fun toys: Cubey Terra Best hair: Lost. Best shoes: For men? Well 2styles maybe, not a lot of choice out there. Best skins: For men, Second Skin. Starley Thereian does the best womens skins I have seen naked. Best tringo: Ice Dragon Best place for freebies: SL is a platform not a game nothing is free. LOL Best tattoos: Honey Hoffmans

Oh, Christ. Another popularity contest. And, as usual, the most creative and unique stuff will be underappreciated. Give it a rest. Leave the top 100 lists to VHS. They, at least, salt the sugar with satire and comedy. edited to add: On Second Thought, how about a "Worst of Second Life" list to balance out the "Best"? A thread rule: can't post the "best" without posting the "worst"... so that we can get a better sense of what sort of tastes you have, and how much conviction.

From: Seth Kanahoe Oh, Christ. Another popularity contest. And, as usual, the most creative and unique stuff will be underappreciated. I don't have my landmarks here at work with me. Maybe you could post a few you consider worthy? I know there are a bunch out there. From: someone Give it a rest. Leave the top 100 lists to VHS. They, at least, salt the sugar with satire and comedy. Or maybe we could just, like, you know, 'discuss' on a discussion forum? We either get a break from all the "We want liberty and freedom now" threads or we're back to whining about something else equally pointless. I'd rather contribute to lists of good things than whine. From: someone edited to add: On Second Thought, how about a "Worst of Second Life" list to balance out the "Best"? Click on "New Thread" and have at it.

From: Seth Kanahoe Oh, Christ. Another popularity contest. And, as usual, the most creative and unique stuff will be underappreciated. So come on..give us a short list of unknown haunts that never make the top 10 and stop being such a miserable old coot By the way, there are selections on my list of favorites that I have never seen mentioned.

Best clothing store for men: L&F , DE Designs, Little Rebel
Best general clothing store for women: Aimee is my hero/ Little Rebel/ Naught Designs
Best "natural" build" : Fairchang Islands (is that considered natural)
Best "urban" build: The Parking Lot, Midnight City
Best place for animations: I think my choice is obvious, anyone other than me I would say ANOmations. WIsh I had that talent with dances.
Best fun toys: Acne, Yuri is very creative and flys under the radar. I was surprised to see someone else actually listed him. Another would be Rebel Riders located at The Parking Lot.
Best skins: Naughty Designs / Chip Midnights
Added: Best Furniture: Bella Bella Designs
Sight to see: Ethereal Teal. That light show always amazes me.
I deleted the ones I could not give a solid opinion on.

Of course these lists are going to be a little subjective. Truthfully though, I've found threads like this indispensable in the past because I'm not much of an explorer. As such, I'll contribute my L$2. (Being that I don't get out much, I will just skip the categories that I'm not familiar with) - Best DJs: Trinity and Nala
Two great tastes that go great together (I'm not sure which is peanut butter and which is chocolate, I'll have to ask)!
- Best Clothing Store for Men: Beryl Greenacre's Swell Second Life
Superb quality and a decent selection (even for those with aversion to color such as myself).
- Best Urban Build: Midnight City
A wonderful city build with a lot of atmosphere absolutely brimming with great stores.
- Best hair: Lash Xevious' Lashed
Although I am a member of the Hairless Club for Men I still find myself directing others to Lashed for their prim-hair needs. And, I bought her beanie style just for the beanie!
- Best shoes: Aimee Weber's *PREEN* & Kimberly Casanova's KCD
Simply love Aimee's Doc Webers and Kim's Kans!
- Best skins: Sezmra Svarog's Nora & Starley Thereian's Celestial Studios
Although I ended up making my own skin to suit my particular needs (it's not easy being grey) I think Sezmra makes the best male skins in SL and Starley's Passport skin for females is a work of art.
