Here's the rules:
1. You can't answer "the people."
2. Make your answer no longer than five lines long.
Here's mine:
The feeling of constantly getting better at building and texturing as I learn things that either everybody else already knows or represent new tricks of my own.

The outlet for creativity. I can try my hand at anything, and build/texture/clothe/create for absolutely no reason at all other than I want to see how something turns out. Mistakes and bad ideas are deleted, and good ones are displayed and possibly give me some mad cash.

I love the fact that Second Life has managed to keep my attention for over two years by being an endless creative and social outlet. Whether it is making something, hanging out with people, exploring, or just sitting there doing nothing at all, I find myself rarely bored in SL. That is something, as I tend to tire easily of new things.

The feeling you can just keep expanding.

And whereas in most professions these would be considerable drawbacks, in chartered accountancy they are a positive boon.

That it's like a 3D piece of paper just waiting to be drawn on.
And the future posibilities that'll make it all better.

I love SL because of the manipulative twits with alts and personality disorders. This category of nameless persons is very amusing.
Also, the freedom to create nearly anything is a big draw.

my favorite thing
06-05-2005 17:25
my favorite thing about second life is that after a crazy busy day, week, month, i can come in here and plop down on my own private beach and do nothing. peace and quiet, sunsetting in over the water, the gentle lapping of the waves, and i don't have to drive anywhere!!!!

I like to build. But almost as much as that, I like to park my AV in some interesting place and lounge, while I, myself, deal with the high-velocities of my real life. I can look at my AV from time to time and think: Well, at least somewhere I'm relaxing.

I have been able to imagine "arts", but am bad at producing them; modeling, texturing, etc., the exceptions are water colors and photography. SL allows me to "realize" my thoughts as no other medium has. The social aspect of the game, folks I have met I would have never met otherwise. The fact that it motivates me to learn things, as it has with Photoshop and other apps.

That's interesting, Seth. That's kinda my thing, too. Did it in TSO, but I do it more easily here. Sort of a split-personality kind of deal. No matter what is going on in the house, hey, I'm happy relaxing at the beach!

I love being able to make a part of the world my own and express my creativity and then have other people experience and share in it. Also, pretty much everything Cristiano said. I can't believe after more than two years I still love this place as much as I do.
