Since getting in was almost impossible on Saturday night, I decided, living on the eastern side of Canada, to go to bed early, and got up at around 6:00 am this morning. I logged in almost instantly, and had 3 good hours of work on my new vehicle without any problems. I teleported around to all my vendors, and everything was good.

I would like to thank everyone who does NOT come onto a thread in a forum to call everyone else in the U.S. bad things, as well as everyone from other countries who does NOT come onto the thread to call us bad things.
And that - I have to remind myself - is just a whole bunch of people.

Coco
I think you will find that people in other countries do not hate Americans, my friends and I certainly don't. But they do hate your President and that's a big difference.

Some do - some don't.
I am playing an online game, and coming to the forums reading about an online game. If out of the blue I keep getting totally gratuitous slaps in the face for being American, that disgusts me and saps the pleasure out of the game and the forums.
If people want to take slaps at a country's citizenry (usually done by other citizens of the country, pointing out how superior they are to 98% of the other "yahoos" in the country), or its leadership, its foreign policy, or anything else whatever, kindly take it to the off-topic forum.
Imagine if you were from Sweden, and one of my best game friends is, and you come into the forum and you are reading along about some topic and WHAM there it is again, another gratuitous bash of the Swedish and their government, and nobody - nobody - none of the other Swedes - is protesting, because, see, it ain't as cool as the ones doing the bashing. It pisses you off - needlessly and pointlessly. If you wanted to be pissed off about anti-Swedenism, you would hang around political forums.
Well, I do not like having to protest each time, I can promise you that, because everyone has a right to his/her own opinion. But I will protest every time it pops up here, where it doesn't belong, if for no other reason than so that people from other countries don't think we all go around talking like this at the drop of a hat.
Kindly keep country-bashing to the off-topic forums and save me this trouble.
You know some people are always talking about all this flag-waving and blind patriotism that supposedly goes on by a supposed bunch of sub-primate yahoos, but it doesn't go on here. What does go on here is a whole bunch of chic anti-Americanism, by people who continually push their political stance in everyone's face where it isn't appropriate, as if we all agree with them.

coco See, and you said it in a way everyone can understand and relate to. THAT I APPRECIATE. No sarcasm on my part, no humor. And there was no personal attacks (though the yahoo quote was slightly more direct than needed). See, people CAN make their opinion known without cussing each other out and ranting. But, you do have my standpoint slightly off, coco. Point in case, reread the 'yahoo' quote and note they way I said it. I never said my opinion mattered MORE, I said it mattered the SAME. And the first quote was based in the humor of the first post, and should have been taken in that light. It was not. Ah well. Not like a take most of what is said on the forums seriously anyway.

yeah you Brits are lucky that sheep-yanks have been trained by their coporate masters to hate the French, the French, not the North Koreans who stand to nuke us or communist Chinese or Indians who have taken their jobs, not even the 'terrorists' we are at war with get as much shit as the French, hot French babes with big eyes who whisper erotic things in your ears as they get you buzzed on quality wine and tempt you with yummy food....

Thank you, Foolish. I did reread it, and I see what you mean. I wasn't much responding to that part of your post or to you, really. In fact, ever since I have been around on forums I try to not even NOTICE who says what as much as possible - helps keep me very tuned into what I feel and want to say, rather than my feelings toward whoever has said what whenever possible. Doesn't always work, of course, but it is a good policy. It does, though, sometimes lead to my seeming to take the original poster to task more than he deserves.
I realize you were being humorous with the yahoo thing, and did not say anything about being superior. Others, though, have characterized citizens in the yahoo way, and for those purposes, and so I made my point using the word you had just implanted in my subconscious. Didn't mean to imply your particular use of the word in this particular instance had anything to do with the 98% thing or the broader points I was making.
And I agree, this form of disagreeing with one another, to whatever degree, is preferable to more visceral methods, lol. My litmus test is whether I ever yell "STFU." I think I should NEVER yell "STFU," but I have been tempted to! (Not in this thread at all.) As long as I can keep on keeping on without ever yelling "STFU," I should be okay. lol

Quite good!
Anyway, I've ran out of things to say here. I think I'll do something constructive...

...
I'm thinking! Quit staring at me like that...
...
<sigh>
All right. I'll go work on chapter 2 for a bit... Now quit using puppy-dog eyes on me and go play somewhere...
