Hey Shadow thanks for chiming in :) Just to make my point clear "buttons" or shoes as the case maybe be can come in all shapes and sizes. I believe there is pleanty of room for lots more "buttons" in all different shapes and sizes for a different taste.

Now just so its abundantly clear to all I have in fact started my new store in Perry at the Fairy Village, in the Cottage. I just added some stock last night and the majority of the stock will be textures. My textures. Although I realize there are other texture stores.

I find more and more I am just uploading my textures and giving them away. At the end of the week I am barly getting by. This serves three purposes for me 1) I can imporve the Fairy Village with the profits and 2) my upload costs are off set. 3) my textures are available even when I am not online

So far I have uploaded 30 textures and divided them into 3 sets of 10. Light wood, med wood, and dark wood. I am planning on adding more each day until I am eather current with what is on my removable media or I have enough to keep everyone happy for a while :D

I hope to see ya a bit later today (yeah i am at work and I have re read this no less that a dozen times :D busy lady! AH HA :D see you soon.

Sounds cool Catherine :) Good luck with your new venture! A couple words of advice... name your textures in a way that makes it clear that they originated with you and tack a (no copy) on the end of the name.

Building a button shop no matter what anyone else thinks of it or says about it only supports my biggest suggestion I give to people: "Shop around, you'll probably find it cheaper somewhere else."

Only problem is, you can't do that with all the stuff I sell :D

You can hardly go wrong building a store in Aqua... it's a high-tax area and they plunked an Avatar Central down there... to me, that's a sure sign they want to encourage people to build stores there!

This thought had occured to me, too. A couple days ago - mebbe a week, a new resident asked me if I wanted to buy a pair of wings she'd made. They were uncommon pretty wings, but alas I'm not a wing-wearing fairy, LOL. I told her that the wing market was pretty well saturated, but with a good location and a little promotion she would surely find a customer base, as her creations were so fine.
On the other hand, I don't know about others, but the convenience of, say a lighting store, or a plumbing supply, where you could display your creations with those of others, would be very welcome. I have referred several seekers of attractive bathroom fixtures to Madame Thespian and Devlin Gallant, but it sure would be nice to look at all the choices at the same time and place!

Recently I have thought about my playing options. Now without pointing fingers or getting upset lets talk about what i feel is a problem in SL and hinders a lot of ppl from doing what they want to do.

Example:

Jane has a store she sells buttons. Jane and her friends are the only ones in the game who sell buttons.

John wants to sell buttons but gets the impression that no one wants him to sell his buttons especialy Jane and her friends.

So John builds a house and trys to get by keeping his buttons to him self.

As time goes by I see more and more of this and have discussed it with several ppl. They agree that "this is how it is and yes a whole lot of ppl would be angry if John opened a button store".

I understand how everyone wants to be unique but presently there is only so much ppl are will to purchase.

I understand that the only real uniqueness in game is the individual and the individuals lot.

The only problem is the more I feel restricted as to what I can and cannot do the less I want to play.

I also feel I am duty bound as a mentor to mention these in game unspoken unwritten laws to the newbie that enters his/her SL.

Personaly I think this bites, I like to see a little friendly competition it only helps to raise the bar on creativity.
