From: Margaret Mfume What is the point of the smiley at the end of this post? Is that supposed to make it seem less caustic and judgemental?
Looking at the typical high school girls and young women I'm seeing that a focus on appearance and the quest for material things to be not all that unusual. Pretty typical of youth in any realm actually.
I won't comment on the whore part as I don't spend my time evaluating the sexual activities of others, it's just not my business. well said.

From: Beau Perkins Enabran you just spoke my exact point of view. One more, thing, Beau... If you take a non-destructive but unusual activity and make it forbidden, even discouraged, the teenage penchant for rebellion may take a firm grip and make a problem out of an otherwise innocuous issue. Keep that in mind, too.

I know a great many scores of young adults who's lives revolve basically around this. Welcome to modern society, where kids are raised with the notion that appearance and acquisition of material goods will make them ultimately happy. But I suppose this thread isn't the right place to criticise the way society is going, just wanted to mention there are plenty adults who function exactly the same way because that is what society dictates.

In my opinion, your chances of finding a worthwhile, meaningful, lasting relationship are far better for any given street corner where you live than online. That goes for SL, match.com, myspace, @=@=@SEXXXXY STAR TREK GOREAN FURRY RP CHAT@=@=@, etc.

That is why I added young women, not that I think it's exclusive to teenage girls or to females, but because that was the probable dating pool for Cat's 18 yr old son. I'm just not seeing rl teenage girls to be any less materialistic, obsessed with their looks, or immoral than their online counterparts.
