Um, negrating someone is not "harassment," Weedy, get a grip. It's an expression of my negative appraisal on 3 areas. It's legal, allowed, and encouraged in the game.

Trying to call normal everyday legal game actions as "illegal" is typical of hysterical and overheated forum rhetoric. It's one of the reasons for the negs.

Exactly! Not only did Weedy behave badly, but she built an extremely ugly font, and she chose an awful color to appear in as well.

I got triple negged for pointing out a logical flaw in Prok's argument. He uses triple negs as a way to harrass anyone who disagrees with him. Take it as a badge of honour for standing up to a vicious troll.

Since some people do blanket neg-rates - I wish there was some enforcement of *legit* uses of ratings - both pos and neg. Some people will rate you w/o ever having seen a build or ever having seen your AV.

Or, if they continue to refuse to do so, I sincerely hope the next time the kook pops up with some drama and sob story about being horribly abused by the game tools Linden Labs brays out loud and then, soundly ignores the kook.

While I agree that negging with an av or two is definitely not harassment in and of itself, Prok, you've been harassing a whole bunch of us in the forums with your false accusations and mean snipes, both of which continue to be debunked without sufficient rebuttal from yourself.

Translation: If you harass people on the forums, it shouldn't be a surprise that people feel your actions in game as harassment, too.

Did this miss you completely, or are you just pretending not to see it?
(I realize that's a loaded question, but feel free to propose a third alternative.)

Um, I don't have any contact with you in the game. I respond to your harassment on the forums with rebuttals. And I negrated you by clicking on an inanimate vendor. I looked at your builds, I looked at your screenshot, I contemplated your behavior, and I came to the conclusion that you need a negrate on all three levels. Sorry, but there it is. It's legitimate. Honestly, if more people could use the negrates to express their opprobrium for bad behaviour on the forums, the forums would get cleaned up of all the nasty invective we see on here.

I've been expressing my ideas, and fighting back when people personally attack me, some of them using really unseemly methods like attempts to reveal real or imagined RL information in violation of the TOS.

I haven't seen any persuasive debunking of my premises and I will continue to hold to my beliefs. I'm always open to revision, but so far the behaviour I see here and in the game reinforces my beliefs, and does not dispel them.

1. I did not accuse you of scamming newbies. This is yet another example of you making up facts -- outright lying -- in order to play the victim. You had just finished accusing me of having sinister motives when I let newbies ride my airships. Provide an exact quote of where I accused you of anything, besides making this crap up.

2. Responding to a forum post with a triple neg is an abuse of the ratings system. The categories are "Building", "Appearance", and "Behavior". *Maybe* it's acceptable to neg-rate someone under behaviour, but I suggest you explain how my forum post contained my "Building" and "Appearance" skills?

Not at all. When someone slanders you on the forums, you have little recourse. You have no in-game dispute system, court of law, or indeed, even an effective abuse-report system. So the triple negrate is there for the taking.
