What industry is that? And why did things go down the tubes? I sold TV's and Video clips since beta. Long before there was streaming video. In my time I sold many thousands of video disc's and well over a thousand tv's. Now everyone and their brother is selling a tv and some streams or something. I was selling TV in SL a solid year and a half before anyone else. Now its just another muddy market. SLVETV.com |

You must have made a fortune. I made enough that I thought I would be able to make a living on SL. Just as I was changing my life to dedicate full time to SL development, LL pulled the rug out from under me. I wasnt in it for the money, but the dream of being able to sustain myself on earnings from something I loved. . |

Well, since this many forum peeps are MAKING money, its obvious as to why the poll I posted the other day soundly rejected any type of sales tax. The rejection of your idea had nothing to do with the proportion of individuals who are making money versus those who are not. Your poll showed a resounding 90% no because, in general, a sales tax to prop up an already stagnant and ailing "industry" is an obviously bad idea. This poll shows a much more diverse distribution, so I'd say folks in both camps have spoken. (though neither poll is even remotely close to scientific) _____________________
Furthermore, as Second Life goes to the Metaverse, and this becomes an open platform, Linden Lab risks lawsuit in court and [attachment culling] will, I repeat WILL be reverse in court. Second Life Forums: Who needs Reason when you can use bold tags? |
