Zuzi,

I've been here a while, and haven't noticed much change in the forums.

I agree that people should treat each other with civility. I think that is best achieved by pointing out to them when they fail to do this.

Speaking for myself, I certainly wouldn't pay good money to be in a forum where you could be banned at the whim of the moderators.

I'm in favour of free speech.

Well spoken Selador.

Civility is as civility does. One who expects it but does not give it has a long and winding road to walk. Not to mention that sometimes from the most uncivil sounding commentary comes amazing insight.

Yeah, like Forrest Gump, George Carlin, and Donald Trump!

Three of my favorites. :D

Well, I might have been more inclined to agree if this hadn't been presented in such a negative way with such complete contempt for the forum posters and their opinions. As it is, it just comes across as hugely hypocritical.

Off topic is a sort of no rules forum.

Though some of us do get a bit edgy at times things usually work out. This isn't a run of the mill forum. I would say 98 percent of the heavy posters are highly intelligent people of passionate dispositions who are trying to figure it all out (whether that is player government or real world politics). In doing so toes may get stepped on and feelings may be temporarily hurt. On most occasions though by the end of the thread some consensus is reached even if it is just agreeing to disagree. <snip>

Excellent post Isis! I enjoyed your other posts in this thread as well. And agree with you completely. :)
