Isn't california wonderful? I'm sitting around in the 106 degree heat cursing my apartment manager for my substandard AC and eating popsicles

I live in San Francisco. When it gets hot in the valley, the rising air out there sucks in the ice-cold Pacific air from the coast, drawing a layer of fog over the city and cooling it down substantially. It's been a steady 22 °C (72 °F) here for the last week.

Things finally warm up in the city in August and September when the inland regions cool off and the cold air no longer is drawn in towards the valley.

Sigh. I live right in the middle of the jet stream and damn it! This year has been insane!

In the 90s almost every day and 90+% humidity!

Only in Minnesota - minus 30 in January and 95 in July. Sucks.

Nolan I hear your pain, I'm a lil south in Chicago, and we've been stuck in the 90's along with you! Poor plants look baked! Rain, need rain!

Triiin, that's it. I am coming to visit just so I can catch the breeze in your window. The humidity is stifling up here! :(

106... You damn sissies! It's 106 on a chilly day in the fall here! You kids... Today is supposed to be 116. Another cold front must be moving in. I am forever grateful for the lack of anything resembling moisture in the air here though. Raindrops can be heard screaming in terror on the rare occassions they plummet toward the earth here. Humidity makes me very, very cranky.

Today I am enjoying not being outside. I'm enjoying an ice cold beer and playing around in GIMP. Later I may barbecue some chicken, or not, depending on whether I can actually get someone else to barbecue it for me, which would be keen!

It's been rain, rain, rain all summer, here in supposed Hotlanta. We do have some summers that are just like that. As long as you don't have season tickets to White Water, though, it's okay, and does keep the electricity bill down.
