Did I call it or did I call it? In this thread, started by Amber Lehane (thanks again for bringing it up, Amber), I mentioned I thought it was pretty clear what direction Microsoft was taking in regard to spyware. It seems fairly obvious the goal of their new hard stance against spyware is simply to beat down the competition so that they themselves can get into the racket. Now, here's the proof. Less than a week after entering talks to purchase Claria, they've changed MS Anti-Spyware to recommend that users allow Claria products to remain active on their systems. Is this disgusting or what?

What else is new? This is pretty much textbook for some of MS's decisions.
