I am planning a photographic exhibition for the first week in November. I would like to showcase shots of the most beautiful, innovative and exciting builds in SL. I am looking for suggestions of suitable places I can go photograph. Feel free to suggest your latest creation, or something you have discovered on your travels. I will display my favorites in my new gallery in Fujin, the exhibition will be well advertised and free to enter All the pictures will be captioned with the builder's name of course. The pictures will contain landmarks and will hopefully inspire visitors both new and not-so-new to Second Life with some ideas for interesting places to visit. I will only include commercial locations (shops, malls, clubs etc) if they are also exceptional builds. This is a fun venture Please IM me any landmarks/suggestions you might have - or of course, mention them here Thanks, Elgyfu

In an effort to join the self-aggrandizing and as an added bonus promoting my friends also, because that is really the SL way…
I would like to recommend the Gold Coast Sim as housing some beautiful buildings in SL. The majority of builds are commercial in nature, but there are several like the Art Gallery, Hotel, and Restaurants that are just there for fun…

Barnesworth's store (I forget where it is) which is lovely and fits in nicely with the environment (the one he had for sale on a limited edition basis which I, of course, couldn't buy because my PC decided to die, but that's a whole different story).

Our pioneer homestead in Sand (87,92) is not to be missed. It doesn't overwhelm the senses with hugeness but instead has an incredible amout of small details. Many people stop by and take a quick look into the cabin, and glance over at the barn, without giving the many items in there time to rez so they miss the best part.
Most of the building was done by Melissa King, Forcythia Wishbringer created the pond and I was in charge of the landscaping.
You will not see anything like this anywhere else in Second Life.

The city of Nova Albion (Grignano, Sistiana, Barcola, and Miramare) are chock full of interesting architecture.

I flew out to Midnight City for the first time ever this weekend. Its a commercial build - but all I can say is "Wow." I hate shopping, but I must have spent an hour just wandering around, marveling at the awesome build. I'd definately add it to your list to check out.

The sim "Response" is a faithful replica of Hanover, NH if you interested in builds that cross over into RL.

Kisa Naumova has a great little build on the side of a stiff cliff. And (warning, shameless plug) I like my chess club with the boards and chess paraphernalia in hellwyn (look up "chess" in "find places" .

Take a trip over to anywhere in the Derwent/Windermere/Bowness Sims - there's some great natural landscapes and subtly-designed housing there.

Another shameless plug: my elven / gothic themed tower-ish hangout in Brauni - I don't remember the coordinates but it's about in the middle of the sim. I recommend a visit at sunset or early night, it's very dreamy and romantic then.

Kendra Bancroft has made some amazing Bavarian structures in a section of Neualtenburg known as Altenburg. The structures are reminiscent of painted buildings in Oberammergau and are much more detailed than the other structures in Neualtenburg. She is truly one of the most talented artists in SL today.
She's also in the process of building Schloss Neualtenburg, a large castle on the hill. Although it's still in the construction phase, the luxurious Ludwig-era-inspired textures are apparent.
