are you gloating Hiro? Because mean spirited gloating is not a sign of good character. So I hope you aren't doing that.

OMG! Gloating about what ffs? *sigh*

Why the fork is everyone picking on him? Jesus, he didn't name anyone, hes RIGHT, it IS nice to log on without a front page full of argumentative threads.

And not one person contributed to that, we ALL did.

You know, I wish I hadn't started this thread, I can see it turning into exactly what I was celebrating the absence of.

This was not directed at one person. It wasn't even directed at a few. It was a general observation, a happy one at that. I am sorry if the first post came across that way, but I have explained what was going through my mind when I posted it.

The paranoia and suspicion of bad will here is just getting ridiculous. This is exactly why I stayed away from such threads, it obviously has long term effects on how people see subsequent threads.

*sigh*

It's no surprise that only a small percentage of SL read these forums, let alone post in them.

My assumption that this was a continuation of a certain victory parade may have been influenced by coco's "dancing on graves" post. I don't recall you ever having been part of a lynch mob, so perhaps my presumption that you might be gloating was a bit hasty.

Nevertheless, threads about forum rules or forum behavior are provacative in the aftermath of a shitfest, becuase you can't avoid the perception that you are taking sides. Even when you aren't.

I just didn't want you to go too far. I was concerned after you posted your opinion that the forums are boring. The people posting here may have gotten their feelings hurt. That may have put them in a defensive mode and prone to jump.

Buster

OK in retrospect, it perhaps wasn't wise. I have had run ins in land and economy with a few people, that's just because it's what I do in SL. I have stayed clear of all the threads that I reffered to. They were just not for me, thus the celebratory post. Maybe if I had of posted in those threads, I would have thought twice about posting this one. It's just a shame it has to be that way.

The only side I see being taken in the original post is in favor of calmer and more productive forums. People can draw their own conclusions about why things have changed for the better and, whatever the reasons, those things are worth celebrating.

I'm sticking with the "Shut up and knock on wood" side of this debate. Not that talking about this subject will necessarily make things go back to the way they were... but... SHHHH already! :D

Don't make me ring up my good friend Godzilla. ^_^

Remember, Godzilla was not bad guy in SOME movies.

Same with some forums. :)

What "sides"? The only people trying to perpetuate the us vs. them stuff are those complaining about it.

Forums are boring and people are whining about the lack of "quality" garage sales. Ohh yes, such an improvement.

Best thread I've read on these forums about non-issues no one will name for no reason.

First person: Whew!
Second person: You can say that again.
Third person: Can you believe what happened? Glad it's over.
Second person: Sssh. Let's not talk about it.
First person: Yeah. But even so....
Fourth person: Maybe we deserved what happened to us?
First, Second, and Third persons: What the hell are you talking about!
Fifth person: Um, what are you all talking about?
First, Second, and Third persons: Everybody, shut up!

HAHAHAHA

Sixth person: It's so inappropriate that you are all talking this way!
Fifth person: Talking what way?!?
First person: About him.
Fifth person: Who?
Second person: I don't know.
Everybody: THIRD BASE!
Fifth person: I don't give a darn!
First person: Oh, that's our shortstop.

I second that question. We're in dire need of some tight ends around here. ;)
