Yeah. I'm a leftist and you'll have to live with it like I have to live with you.

Hmmm. First off, yes they do let liberals play. You may not notice, since they tend to be more gentle-spoken that the right wing folks ;-)
Second, having been a warrior in the real world, I have to say I have only one complaint about the Outlands. There doesn't seem to be the sense of honor that is expected of soldiers. There seems, instead, to be several rather immature players who never thought through to the possibility that other folks might want to play too. These folks seem to have been kicked off Counter Strike for excessive camping, and have come here to do it. In fact, they've brought back the bane of old Quake players - spawn camping.
Is it possible that they can have war games and a bit of anarchy without being total non-stop jerks? Or is this the experiment that proves that they can't?
Frankly, most soldiers will try not to shoot unarmed folks - especially carrying white flags.
This would be a good time for a leader(s) to step up and insist on some sort of rules of war. Otherwise, y'all look like a pack of dogs, feeding on strays and those who can't defend themselves. I know you don't want to have that kind of reputation.

I just want to post my 2 cents in.
Basically, I think that the reason many of us got so upset was because of the fact that the WWIIOL'ers came here looking for a war, and, that isn't what this world is about. There are many games dedicated to the gameplay you want, but, there are none for us, besides Second Life. It felt as though you came here looking to start a war, and, we didn't want one. This has been a peaceful, small community. It has felt like a small town up till now.

Not to jump all over your post here James, and nothing personal, but.... From: someone Basically, I think that the reason many of us got so upset was because of the fact that the WWIIOL'ers came here looking for a war, and, that isn't what this world is about. It isn't? I thought the whole idea about Second Life was the fact is that you could do just that. Have a second life, do what you want. This game is great for bringing out the creative juices, maybe the best! But along with creativity, also come less rules, and more or less anarchy. There have been groups completely against the so called 'ww2ol invasion', probably because we are a group of people interested in military history obviously. everyone's got their own opinion of course. I personally don't want war all the time. I enjoy trying to model weapons, because, that's what interests me. I built a mosque based on the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. I had fun doing that for a week. Nobody wants war 24/7. This world is exactly about that. Your second life. How do you want to live it? Why do you think there are reputation ratings and the like? personally i would think that those ratings should have more impact from your actions and inter-actions with others (like affect your income more drastically). If you are an asshat all the time (like that woopm charachter in jessie), then you are penalized. From: someone It has felt like a small town up till now. Yes, it probably did. Most online betas have small close knit communities. Well, this game is going live, it's probably not going to be as small as it was before. And just like in real life, cities/communities grow. I hope the best for this game, but i dunno if i can continue or not. we'll see. Kathy- From: someone This would be a good time for a leader(s) to step up and insist on some sort of rules of war. Otherwise, y'all look like a pack of dogs, feeding on strays and those who can't defend themselves. I know you don't want to have that kind of reputation. yes, i would support having such rules and contrary to popular belief, ww2ol'ers do not always shoot first and go out trying to harrass people. Yes, it's happened before, having just 5 people do that out of our group is less than 3% of the whole clan. I'm not going to pay money to be someone's babysitter. Of course there is going to be immaturity!! it's the internet for god sakes'!!

the sad thing nada, you didn't get to meet most of us, you met a few that may have caused some trouble and figured the rest of us were like that. i never met anyone in SL that i dind't like. i had a few good debates with some people but i always made sure every party involved knew it was just a debate. no need to argue about anything, no one has like views on everything. pity it never was to work out for the wwiioler's and the rest of the community.

I like the game and would consider paying for it. The cost makes no difference to me. That isnt the point. Heck, I dont play WW2OL hardly at all. But I believe in it. I pay to post on the forums. I am not kidding. Why? Because it is an incredible community. It is very inclusive. The community is extremely forgiving..to a point. We dont tolerate griefers, for instance. We dont tolerate people trying to overtly destroy the game.
As far as politics go...we have it ALL. We have communists, socialists, liberals, democrats, moderates, independants, Blue Dogs, republicans, conservatives, and me.
Almost 150 of us came into this game as WW2OLers. And I was unofficially elected...somehow...the leader of this bunch. I didnt create the friggin group. The leader of the people described above. Uh huh. Right.
Nobody can lead this group. The owner of WW2OL plays this game and HE wouldnt even try. I cant do it either.
But we are all persecuted for the acts of others. Is there a way to kick people from your clan? I never was able to figure it out, or I'd have kicked Woopm. And I'd have had some semblance of control over the clan.
I agree with OneArmed most of the time.

'Glory-daying,' and i say forget that, enjoy it for what it is at that very moment.
