Hi all. Just wanted to throw an idea out there, why doesn't someone open a roller skating rink? It would be an awesome place to try out your new rollerskates!!!

We use the old welcome area boardwalk in Lime as a skate park. It's got lots of ramps and it's fun to launch yourself over the railings in Moopf's new skates. I hope they never remove the structure, even though it's not used much as a welcome area, its a great spot for messing around on skates and skate boards.

I don't know of a roller rink in SL. On a related note, there's a soccer field in Boardman where you can play.

Crap, just had an afterthought.... would the owner have to pay people to use it? Or will it somehow evade the "club" business model..?

Hmm, who knows Jamie, probably would turn into a club type thing. I was imagining something like they used to have, music, speed rounds, competitions, fancy skating etc - it used to be so much fun in RL!!

I will go try the places you recommend Ingrid - my apartment is just too small to really get up any speed!

Sensual used to have a pretty cool roller rink once upon a time. I'm guessing its not still there, then?

There was one on April 30th at Asim Zahra. Haven't been there since, so don't know if still there.

The Asim Zahra skating rink is still there (in fact there's a vendor of mine there selling the new skates as well - plug plug). Apart from that I don't know of any others now that Mesede has closed. I'd be interested to know if there are any more or if anybody's building one.

I've got a couple of ideas for a skate track that I might end up creating on my island once the Pot Healers project has finished at the end of this month, unless other cool skate parks have sprung up in the meantime.

There's an ice-skating rink, too. (Or was.)

I put in various words under the find thing, like bowling and skating. It's amazing the things you can find when you do that!

There used to be a really nice skate park in Mesede by Braddie Pendragon and Rysidian Rubio -- am I leaving anyone out? REALLY nice... I went there several times with different groups of friends (hehe one of the most memorable was with Flip and Casey and others on Higbee's dragon) and it was always such a wild experience. It had obstacles, crazy track arrangement... the area's empty now but it was wonderful fun. Good memories, so thanks to Brad and Rys.

An accurate replica of an 70s rollerderby with some twists thrown in for good measure would be welcome. :)

YES! I loved that thing too. Almost all of Mesede is up for sale now sadly and the skate park is gone.

Yes Braddie and Rysidian owned the land, although I think it was primarily Rosa and Rafael Gardner who built and maintained the skate park. At least that's what I thought :)

Ahhhhhh thanks, I didn't know that before! I wanted to check for accuracy but... all gone. Thx Moopf. That's the first place I bought your earlier skates.

It's a real shame it's gone, although it was there for a long time. It disappearing happened just a few days before I released the new Skoopfs, which was unfortunate timing! ;)

Moopf is 100% correct. The skating rink on Asim Zahra is in operation and the pace of events has been picking up. The design is representative of a rink from Zarah's younger days :) since I couldn't stand up on anything other than my 2 feet!

Zarah and I had a 1950s night weekend before last, and are currently working on acquiring music for the 1960s and 1970s night. I suspect the 1970s night may occur this coming weekend.

We'll also be opening more often for general skating events without the themed aspects, especially so people can use the awesome new Skoopf Ultra skates.

The rink is always accessible too, so feel free to come skating anytime you like. Oh, and did I mention that lag is nearly non-existent :D

We had an ice rink in the harbor on FairChang Project last winter. We will probably freeze it again next year too.

I am posting a fun picture of our family rollerskating in the apartment in Puebla, Mexico years ago. hehe

Actually that reminds me, the ice skating rink is still up in Celadon I believe. There's a vendor of mine there giving free ice skates (they're the old Skoopf skates changed to look like ice skates).

We just built the roads on FairChang Project for the American Redux 2005. Feel free to skate there to your heart's content. They aren't textured yet, and have no jumps but lots of open space!
