I don't know about the other half, but one half of me is Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Norweigan, and Native American.

Mostly harmless, until pissed off.:D

Truthfully, I am, like many black folks (I abhor the term African American) in America, of indeterminate origin. My RL last name sounds latin, and according to my amateur genealogist sister-in-law, I have distant German relatives.

It never ceases to amaze me how mixed you people are in america.
I am 101% portuguese =P
My family lived in the same HOUSE for like 4 generations, lol.
We even have a cook book where both my mother, grandmother and great grandmother have written down their recipes. My mom's birth and wedding was in that house.
My grandma still sleeps in the same bed where she gave birth to mom and where her parents used to sleep.
The piano where, as a child, I learned how to play was the same piano where, as a child, my mom AND my grandma learned how to play.
We have a venetian lantern that belonged to my grandfather's great grandfather... granps was born in 1917 so thats gotta be what, 200 yrs old or something? We have a couple bottles of port from 1845 so it doesnt seem that far fetched.
So... please excuse me if I seem a little disturbed by your multiple ascendancies and constant hopping around from place to place =)

Thats what makes the United States (and Canada) the great countries that they are. The ability to adapt to all situations and survive.

That wonderful Pioneer spirit.

I think of myself as 100% English, although my grandfather was American.

Like Eggy, I find your mixed heritage boggling! To me, it's bizarre that a country with so much national pride as the US feels the need to express themselves as part English, part German, whatever. But hey, I find you all damn confusing at the best of times ;)

Well our history only goes back a couple of hundred years. If we want to feel connected to our family histories farther back than that we have to look to our own european roots. Since the US is all immigrants (with the only exception being the native americans) then we're bound to end up mutts here. The last girl I dated was Iraqi. My last girlfriend was Iranian. The woman I was seeing before that was Brazillian. We're equal opportunity breeders over here, hehe.

Half Irish, half sober... LOL

jk, the other half is a split of Norwegain and German, all of my ancestors immigrated to the USA in the mid 1800's, and most of us stayed here in Minnesota (uff da!!!) for the subsequent 5 generations.

I have been to mainland Europe a couple of times, and have met ppl of many ethnic blends, my girlfriend is a German citizen (Father is German) and her mother is 100% Korean, from Korea originally. When we go visit her home, we hang out with her friends and relatives which include mixtures of, but is not limited to; Indians, Finlanders, Poles, Koreans, Japanese, and so on. So I am a bit confused over the confusion about Americans being mutts.

If you think about it, in Europe, during feudalism, there were many city states and principalities (tribes, clans, etc.), which later joined ranks to form the countries which make up modern Europe, so in that sense, you are mutts too...

Just my 2... err 3... 4... cents

I'm from Mexico living in So. California.

However I should become a permanent resident Sept. 9 and then become an American citizen 5 years after that (I have to continue to be good of course in order to get that fantastic privilege) HOORAY.

So I guess that makes me Hispanic/Latino/Latin/Latin American//////////////////////////////////////////.

I don't like being politcally correct, but I'm not: Spanish (I'm not from Spain though I'm fluent in the Spanish language)

Anyway, wish me luck for my Sept. 9th interview. I like Mexico but I don't want to live there.

hmmm. . .I need to come up with one of those ending quotes. . .

Race?
White (Cowboy Folks and American Indian)
I dont know whether to scalp myself, or run myself off my land.

As an aside... I refer to myself as American.
Not American Indian, Indian American, or any other politically correct BS! Personally I think that PC crap is what is killing us as a society.

Okay, here goes lol. I was born in London, well outside London actually. I lived there til I was 9 and then moved to the states where I've been ever since. My father is 100 percent Italian and my mother is 1/2 Italian but both were born in England also lol. I live in Georgia now and yes still have an accent lol. So let's see that makes me um...3/4 Italian...1/4 English..I think LOL. Oh well yep I'm a mut through and through :).
