Splitting of the New Products forums... In the end was that such a smart move?

I suggest using the "New Posts" function more, folks...

I DO think the dividing up of the New Products forum was a great idea. I also think that new systems take a little while for folks to get used to.

If you have a product that is now going to be posted in categories other than clothing - let those customers know where to find it and any other further new announcements.

It might be just me, but if I had got wind of a new car coming out, I'd have been checking the vehicles section everyday until I saw the post.

I think as the rest of the threads get added to their various categories (that's STILL going on right?) and as people get used to the new divisions, it will continue to be a very cool system for those who've had their stuff lost in the mix previously.

Something to consider, while there just might be a lot less of an audience for the other categories, whoever, that doesn't mean you aren't reaching those who are specifically looking for your type of product.

If I'm looking for clothes, I know where to go. If I'm looking for a car or a new skin I know where to go, and don't hafta go rooting thru a buncha stuff I'm not interested in to do so.

Also as others have pointed out - as there are far less folks who check the forums than who are active inworld, don't forget to advertize inworld, and use direct communication with those customers who you know would appreciate a heads up on new stuff coming out.
