One of the amusing thing about the FIC is that people who think some of these jibes are pointed at them think that anti-ficsters are presenting it as this all consuming power struggle, when in fact, it's just another bullet point.
I think merwan said it best, everything can be reduced to politics but not everything can be elevated to politics. _____________________

It's a Swarm of mindless personal attacks! I mean why would be any other way? If some folks happen to agree with each other on certain issues - it MUST be that they cannot think or act on their own, and only find validation and satisfaction by behaving as a hive-mind!
Nevermind that someone has to beat on the "hive" with a stick to get a reaction in the first place, the stick wielder is always presumed innocent, and have but altruistic motives for everything they do! No, it's not ganging up on me or all about me. I had just posted that was my favorite, and you just posted a counterpoint to what the person who wrote it had said.
I was surprised it was on a totally different thread. If my favorite was a rehash of sentiments I have expressed before, it's not because I'd ever read them there. I went to that site and read some of the entries because you had provided the link to it. So, I guess you believe in some of those stereotypes, but not all of them. I think they're all pretty funny, and pretty apt. I even found some which could be me! coco |
