Sign up to enter the Burning Life 2005 Lottery! Please state the following information below:

Burning Life participants will be selected by lottery from those Residents who enter by posting to this thread. The deadline for entry is August 22 at 4 PM PDT. Please state your preference for an M or PG sim and if you want to be next to a particular other participant. (We can't promise that we can meet all the requests.) Also, if you wish, select one or more of these descriptions: realistic, surrealistic, futuristic, retrospective. We may use your choice to cluster participants.

Please note that your choices will not influence your chances at winning a plot. Only one lottery entry per person; please don't enter under alternate accounts. The winners and the coordinates of their plot will be posted in the forums on or before August 26th. Land not claimed by August 31st may be given to another participant.

I'm not signing up, just hoping that LL would consider my suggestion.

There've been 2 Burning Life's so far and I've seen both of them. Now both showed extraordinary imagination and artistry from the builders, but in all honesty, last years lacked something and the reason is obvious.

Prim allotments.

At last years BM, the lots were partioned off with mathmatical precision to give each person a clearly defined space to build. To me, it gave a very static feel to it. A sterile look, as each displey was seperated from each other. Now I may be wrong here, but to me it wasn't so much a Burning Man celebration as an open air museum exhibit.

The first one? It was a wonderland of creativity and one build organically merged with it's neighbor. Sometimes you had no idea were one ended and another began as you wandered through an explosion of experimentation and wonder. It was a delightful beautiful mishmash of dreams.

So my simple suggestion is please, do not partition out spaces like parking lots. Just have one big space and let epople build as they will. I realize that this would require you Lindens to keep a close eye on things so no one person hogs prims, but please, just imagine what people can imagine.
